@Pandya Yes, I know that Vallabacharya's Anubhashya is available online in Sanskrit, but I want an English translation.
06:14
@Pandya oh you mean 1.2.31...
06:41
@Pandya By the way, so you've completed Adhyaya 1 Padas 1 and 2? That's great.
@Pandya I've posted several questions related to Adhyaya 1 Pada 1. Here's a question related to Adhyaya 1 Pada 1 Sutra 3:
2
Q: Have there been any responses to Ramanujacharya's refutation of the Cosmological Argument for the existence of God?

Keshav SrinivasanIn Western philosophy, one of the most common arguments for the existence of God is the cosmological argument, which states roughly that everything has a cause, and so the Universe must have a cause, namely God. (There's also a more sophisticated version of the cosmological argument developed by...

@Pandya And here's a question about Adhyaya 1 Pada 1 Sutra 4:

Q: What is Ramanujacharya's argument that the Upanishads must be correct about Brahman if they grant Moksha?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this question, by far the most popular school of Hindu philosophy is the Vedanta school, which bases its tenets on the doctrines laid out in the Brahma Sutras, a work by the sage Vyasa which summarizes and systematizes the philosophical teachings of the Upanishads. (You can read t...

@Pandya And here's an (answered) question related to Adhyaya 1 Pada 1 Sutras 12-19:

Q: Does Adi Shankaracharya equate Brahman with the causal body in his Brahma Sutra Bhashya?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this answer, by far the most popular school of Hindu philosophy is the Vedanta school, which bases its tenets on the doctrines laid out in the Brahma Sutras, a work by the sage Vyasa which summarizes and systematizes the philosophical teachings of the Upanishads. You can read the ...

@Pandya And finally here's a question related to Adhyaya 1 Pada 1 Sutra 30:
2
Q: Do the Aitareya and Brihadaranyaka Upanishads correctly interpret two hymns of Vamadeva?

Keshav SrinivasanLet me preface this by saying that I don't intend to question the wisdom of the divine Upanishads; I'm just trying to resolve my confusion. As you can see in the Anukramani I provided in my answer here, the sage who heard most of the hymns in the Fourth Mandala of the Rig Veda was the sage Vamad...

@Tezz So did you get a chance to look at the Sanskrit edition of Yamunacharya's Agama Pramanya, to find the second Linga Purana quote?
09:42
@KeshavSrinivasan oh sorry I forgot to search it... Nowadays I was busy in writing answer of this question hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/8210/…
@KeshavSrinivasan but I just found it...
It is::
Na hi Vishnumate Kachid Gatiranya Vidhiyate । Ityeva Satatam Veda Gayente Natra Samsaya।।
@KeshavSrinivasan now... I'll search where this quote is located in Linga Purana...
09:55
@KeshavSrinivasan I just read all 8 chapters of VishnuMahatmya of Ling Purana but couldn't find that quote... I think its in other chapters:...

@KeshavSrinivasan I've read your comments on question. Actually I wanted to ask question (title should be) like why Guru (Vedvyasa) takes opinion/saying of Shishya (Jaimini) OR Was purva mimamsa sutras composed before Brahma Sutras?
So, what's your suggestion for the title of the question? @KeshavSrinivasan
By the way note @KeshavSrinivasan & @Tezz that I've started reading Brahama Sutra book which I purchased from Gitapress as I've discussed before. you can search here with Book code 65. So, the point to note is: The book composed of original Brahma Sutra (Sanskrit) verses with Hindi translation & explanation by Harikrishna das Goyandaka...
He has written in निवेदन (announcement) that he has given explanation on the basis/reference of following Sanskrit scriptures: (1) Shri Shankaracharya's Sharirak Bhashya, (2) Shri Ramanujacharya's Shri Bhashya, (3) Shri Vallabhacharya's Anubhashya, (4) Shri Nimbark Bhashya, (5) Shri Bhashjaracharya Bhashya, (6) Brahmananad Deepika, (7) Shri Vijnanbhikhshu Bhashya and Shri Ramanand Vyakhya.
So, I'm currently going with the book mentioned.
And @KeshavSrinivasan seems right at some degree/extent that some explanation supports philosophy of Vishishtadvaita and some questions also raise to Advaita. So, I think I should also read Adi Shankaracharya Bhashya on Brahma Sutra in future to understand philosophy of Advaita in depth. (/cc @Tezz have you read Brahma Sutras yet?)
Because I'm not sure whether author (Harikrishna das Goyandaka) may support either one of the Vedanta philosophy (that may be a case).
13:36
@Pandya I have only read few portions like Refutation of Pancharatra, Pasupata, Atomic theory.... and
Aakash to Air to Fire to Water to Prithivi....
@Pandya it doesn't matter if BrahmaSutra fully supports Vishishtadvaita or Dvaita also... it isn't Sabda Pramana / Sruti... It's just view of Vyasa...
@Tezz yes right.
@Pandya I have only pdf copy of Brahma Sutra... one by Swami Sivananda translation of AdiShankara... and another Sanskrit copy of AduShankara Bhasya...
@KeshavSrinivasan Yes, I've completed Adhyay 1 Pada 1 & 2.
@Tezz @KeshavSrinivasan Recently I've found that in Verse 1.3.26 Badarayan is mentioned. so, How about (I'm planning to) posting question on site like "Are Badarayana and Vedvyasa the same?"
@Pandya yes, you may post...
Actually it is a debated matter...
Western scholars will tell different as it contains Refutation of Buddhism..
@Pandya but Vyasa may have foreseen and written it...
AdiShankara calls him "Jnana Shakti Avatara of Vishnu"...
If Adi Shankara is incarnation of Shiva then I think his words should be right...
@Pandya do you believe Adi Shankara to be incarnation or not...?
@Tezz well, actually (as Atman = Brahman) All are (or can be declared after realization) incarnation according to Advaita. Isn't it?
@Tezz (for the question) I need quotation for "Brahma Sutra is attributed to Badarayana" (i.e how is it declared? any scriptural referance? /cc @KeshavSrinivasan).
14:13
@Pandya yes, all are incarnation... but still relative incarnation...
@Tezz I've heard "Bhagawan Shankar pote" many times from my grandfather while was talking about Adi Shankaracharya.
@Pandya just as Rama, Krishna may be called relative incarnation of Vishnu...
...pote is Gujarati word (Hindi : स्वयं)
@Pandya upto now I haven't found any scripture telling Adi Shankara as incarnation of Shiva... I have heard it's in Shiva Rahasya Purana... but I don't have it...
@Pandya there is a popular verse::
Shruti smruti Puranaanaam Lokaanaam Karunaalyam ... Namami Bhagvata Pada Shankara Loka Shankara
You may also aware of following:
> अष्टवर्षेचतुर्वेदी, द्वादशेसर्वशास्त्रवित्
षोडशेकृतवान्भाष्यम्द्वात्रिंशेमुनिरभ्यगात्
14:18
@Pandya yes, I had read it somewhere....
Completed Vedas in 8... all Shastra in 12... Bhasya in 16 and Samadhi in 32... it means... isn't it?...
@Tezz yes
@Pandya also Digvijaya states GovindaBhagvatpada recognized him as Shiva after he sang Nirvana Shatakam...
@Pandya sri Rudram Yajurveda also states "Namo Vyuptakeshyae Cha".... Salutations to him who is with shaved head...
But Vyuptakesha incarnation was also described in Mahabharat after Tripura Dahana...
