It is also possible to search for recent answers, but then you do not see the question. I mean something like created:2d is:a. (Then you can sort the search result by activity or any of the other criteria offered in the search results - relevance/newest/votes/active.)
According to search help this returns answers posted two days ago.
The way to show posts posted today is to include actual date: created:2016-06-03.
I have posted a feature request related to the above. Although I do not think that there is big chance that it gets implemented.
