@tereško Nah, nah, I already got two screens and a CPU. I just lost its hardrive. It's been a few months. Need to buy a new one that's all. By the way, RasPi ain't so good to run windows... ok, even ubuntu lags a bit on it.
@JourneymanGeek Requires a screw driver that I didn't have at the time. It's like when you pay people to wash your sofa. You can do it yourself but you need stuff and you need to put in work and it may not be done right.
@Nick I have probably a dozen screwdriver bodies, half a dozen electric ones and drills and impact drivers, and maybe a couple hundred driver bits... most of them philips.
they'd brought one in, and the local drivers were scared to drive it he was kinda like "hey, I've driven one of those" ... when he was at an interview...
@qwertyuiop It's been around for ages, way before the giphy age. In that age, people used gifs because videos were too heavy. Now people use videos because GIFs are havey. It came full circle.

the government mandates you HAVE to join their crappy jobs website to begin to claim unemployment benefits. all the listings are basically just RSS feeds from the big job websites so you get loads and loads and loads of duplicates
I mean, you could throw in a plug in charger (and we have infrastructure for charging folks) into carparks here, especially since most folks have covered multistory carparks.
@qwertyuiop I read some warning signs/signals/flashers/etc. as a means of saying "sorry" instead of "caution", and this appears to be one of those cases
like those giant trucks hauling huge items down the road that take up like two and a half lanes of the highway, which are required to have spotter cars in front of and behind them and can only do 20 mph up a hill in a 55 mph zone
they put on all their flashers as if to say "sorry you're going to be late for work because of this shit"
also, this is really sad, but the Internet connection on 4G LTE with my hotspot in a marginal signal strength area (in the basement of an office) is far better than the speed of a landline provided by the company
even during off hours. so it's not a contention issue, the network just sucks
message I wrote to a colleague who asked me to review a contrived project he worked on in Java to evaluate his technique in Java/OOP:
> You used core OO concepts but no design patterns of note, which is like observing a driver successfully park a car in a parking spot (regular pull-in, not parallel park), when that same driver has never driven on a public road before.
well basically if you became a mindless automaton with incredible mathematics and rendering abilities and dependence on a battery for "life", you'd be a phone
To be honest, I don't even know what job agencies do.
I mean, a business place has an opening and need to hire someone, they post the opening somewhere with a list of requirements, candidates send their resumes and then get interviews and then get hired or not.
What's the part of the agencies in all that? And in what consists their dodginess?
Although I'm currently looking for a job I detest the way these agencies operate: 1/ grab your CV for some random place 2/ Sign you up to their website without permission 3/ Use some random crap buzzword algorithm to spam you jobs that don't match your CV 4/
4/ "Apologies if you are no longer looking for work or if this role doesn't apply to you. Please feel free to forward on this email to anyone you know who may be suitable." - in other words please do my job for me never mind I don't have a job for you.
I have a standard reply that goes along the lines of:
Please don't waste my time with unsuitable vacancies.
And by the way, I have had no prior contact with your company and suddenly I find myself subscribed without my permission?
Do you know that is illegal?
"The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 cover the sending of email marketing. This legislation says that organisations must only send marketing emails to individuals if you have agreed to receive them, except where there is a clearly defined customer relationship."
@ThatBrazilianGuy the theory is that you don't waste your time sifting through CVs and applications, you pay someone else to do and then end up with a supposedly higher quality candidate
Along with other pithy words depending on the exact content of their spam. Like:
"Looks like you are buzzword matching just like every other recruiter.
If you actually read my CV you will see that I last used blah blah in 2000 (15 years ago). That doesn't make me a "blah blah Specialist" which is a requirement of the job.
I suppose that means you are just spamming people without even bothering to read their CVs."
Hey, all. Just looking for help encouraging a new user. They posted a self-answered question several days ago to spare others a convoluted learning experience and problems upgrading a notebook to Win 10. The original version wasn't clear. It got dumped on with downvotes and put on hold. I've been helping them in chat and cleaned up the question and answer.
Anybody so inclined, please check out superuser.com/questions/1076640/…. Consider voting to reopen and offsetting the downvotes. Thanks.
My HP 2000 notebook pc upgraded to windows 10 home (2015) version 1511 (os build 10586.36) 64-bit (product id 0036-10000-00000-AA788) succesfully. My computer automatically downloaded and installed upgrade (thru the internet),so I DON'T HAVE a Windows Installation DVD (or) ISO File of the upgrade...
@Ramhound im not a windows user, I am stuck with it for now, I don't know batch nor powershell, so I haven't attempted anything, if I don't get an answer by tomorrow then I guess I'll be on my own, I'll move everything to linux and do it using python, perl or bash. windows is not my comfort zone. — Lynob12 mins ago
I'm on windows 10, I need a batch script or a powershell script to solve this problem.

I am curious to know what the more experienced users out there use for their zero day malware protection? I am currently using a particular AV that is great for signature detection-and very light as well- but not so good for zero day....Thanks!!
