It's Indy's Last Crusade anyway. Bleh! ;-(

The scenarios behind these things always boggle me

Q: Identify movie from a smartphone picture

AntoineGCan anyone guess which movie is this image from ? It's a long shot, google images couldn't help much. • Movie seems to be set in the World War II era (nazi uniforms) • Looks like an interior garden in a mediterranean country, maybe Tunisia, Marroco or Egypt

Indeed it does. Especially Ben Affleck is total boss and looks absolutely handsome in this elderly stubble beard look.

1:08 AM
@NapoleonWilson Yeah, I hope anyone who thought he'd be a terrible Bruce Wayne/Batman is eating their words at the moment.

I never had an issue with that anyway.

Neither did I, but plenty of my friends did.

I was initially not that of a big fan of rebooting Batman yet again, so shortly after that amazing trilogy. But once one accomodates to the fact that the world goes on and the Nolan trilogy won't be forgotten from cinematic history anyway, it's not too bad. And I'm really looking forward to it.

This still looks absolutely hilarious.

Q: Are the 3D effects in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as intense as Avatar 3D?

RockPaperLizardI took a friend to see Avatar in 3D, and well, the popcorn bucket got used for much more than popcorn. She experienced a rather spectacular technicolor yawn. I want to take her to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and I thought it would be enjoyable to watch it in 3D. But if that means she is ...

Q: Brazilian kid killed by police officer for stealing a book

Yassin HajajWhat I remember from this movie is that only scene. It is a brazilian movie, there is this scene that takes place in a train station where a kid steals a book from a woman. A police officer runs ater him on the train tracks and then kills him. That was very shocking to me. I saw this movie on ...

Wow we missed to make Deadpool week.
@NapoleonWilson Or its not that late ?

@AnkitSharma Easy, noone proposed it.
I don't see much use of one anyway, it's veeery niche. But at the bottom line, noone proposed it.

I wanted to but forgot
I am even confused to consider it as X-men week or only deadpool week,
@NapoleonWilson I am thinking to suggest it now

@AnkitSharma Doesn't seem to have much to do with the X-Men. And for them there's a better sutied movie this year anyway.

@NapoleonWilson He was kinda in that first Wolverine movie (and played by the same actor). But it's best to pretend that never happened.

@NapoleonWilson There is only one X-men i can see from trailer. Anyways suggested a TOW .
@Walt Its even non canon to new timeline

10:34 AM
And voted accordingly. Honestly, I can't see it with just a Deadpool week. Ryan Reynolds maybe but only Deadpool?

@NapoleonWilson I don't mind that one either, you can suggest it separately

@AnkitSharma I certainly won't.

@NapoleonWilson I have seen that ;)
@NapoleonWilson hmmmm
Grrr....i hate bodycount question

And there's also too many people with too many tag creation privileges. This isn't SciFi here.

I hope we can send it gift wrapped to our neighbors
They are expert in all HP weird stuff

Ankit SharmaDeadpool - 12th Feb Deadpool Week Merc with a Mouth is coming to live action for the first time with his full fledged costume, unlike lame origin film. So why not make it into a TOW.

@TopicChallengeSuggestion Don't feel lonely, i will bring more suggestions for forthcoming weeks and months.

[Zoolander 2 reviews] Apparently it's every bit as good as Dumb and Dumber To. And Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. And Arrested development 4, 24: Live Another Day, Beverly Hills 90210 2008, Dallas 2012 and The X-Files 10. Can we just, you know, stop with these things already? Before they spell the end of civilization as we know it (AKA Fuller House)?

^^ lol, didn't watched any listed one but i can understand

Q: What is the bodycount of Voldemort?

MikeKeepsOnShineHow many people (muggles, wizards, etcc) did Voldemort kill in the Harry Potter saga?

@MovieReel Shut up, we already discussed about you.

10:43 AM
@AnkitSharma I've seen some, and they're usually just stuck in the past. It's just not working.

@Walt I did considered Dumb and Dumber To at one time but review stopped me and trailer too.

@AnkitSharma I actually sat through this thing. You've made a wise choice.

Urgh, I didn't even like the original that much in the first place.

I have seen original and prequel , i liked them.

@NapoleonWilson I know people who claim it's genius. :S

10:45 AM
But I still want to see the Arrested Development and 24 sequels some day.

@NapoleonWilson Did you like Arrested Development 1-3?

@Walt Yeah, there's apparently millions of 'em on the internet.
@Walt Yes, very much.

@NapoleonWilson Then do not watch 4. Trust me.
I did not crack a smile once.

Ankit SharmaBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - 26th March DC Extended Universe (DCEU) week Batman is coming back and first time sharing screen with superman in live action. Is it not good time to start a TOW for this newly establishes franchise?

@TopicChallengeSuggestion The hell, is that the Taco Bell logo?

10:50 AM
@Walt lol, open for suggestions

Er, SE, hire a good lawyer :P

@TopicChallengeSuggestion Hold you votes second version coming

Why two suggestions for the exact same thing?
@Walt Looks totally different.

@Walt I have took logo from iconfinder free section.

@Walt It's not, as you just proved.

10:52 AM
@NapoleonWilson I had two suggestions , one for DCEU and one for individual character and got confused among too , so presented both to see which one get more support.

I see.

@ChanandlerBong hello

@NapoleonWilson So apparently I don't write enough sarcastic smileys? :P ;) ;P
@AnkitSharma Oh, did you put it there? Nice

@Walt If you have any better logo suggestion, feel free, will change it immediately if appropriate.

@AnkitSharma Illudium Q-36 FTW

@Walt The smiley could as well have been employed if you really thought the logos are the same. It could as well have been interpreted as a spiteful smiley poking fun at the fact that SE supposedly reused the logo and did something wrong. It wasn't that unambiguous. ;-P

@NapoleonWilson You're saying this isn't Comedy Central's SE Roast?

@TopicChallengeSuggestion Nice, atleast you don't have a downvote.

11:02 AM
@AnkitSharma Didn't we have a Batman challenge already, though?

@Walt Did we have any non repetition rule? ;)

@NapoleonWilson It's just slightly reminiscent, and TB is a silly, cheap place that deals in stomach flu. Not much more to the 'joke' than that.
@AnkitSharma No idea. Don't you make the rules? ;)

@Walt You scared him/her away
@Walt TOW is Napoleon's deal. I never interfered him in them, I have just suggested topic and mostly unintentionally annoyed him with them ;)

@AnkitSharma With my modulator comment? I thought he liked them :/

@Walt I don't remember talking to him, sop don't know :)

@Walt I know the cartoon character but i was talking about the person with that profile picture.

Q: What is this soundtrack in Idiotsitter (2016)?

OakAs the title states, I'm looking for an answer that can identify the following soundtrack in Idiotsitter (2016) The soundtrack kicks in at 0:10, when the maid leaves and leaves Billie (the blond) at the door. Youtube - Comedy Central

@AnkitSharma Though going by his nic, it's possibly another Friends tribute. Chandler had a Marvin the Martian cushion
...I swear I stopped watching that show :/

I am not into WB cartoons

@NapoleonWilson BTW, I'm saying this as a big fan of Arrested Development 1-3 who was actually really looking forward to 4.
@AnkitSharma Bummer. Some of Bugs' and Daffy's from the 40s and 50s are amazing.

11:41 AM
@Walt I am not much in comedy cartoons.
Anyways, who is going for deadpool ?

@AnkitSharma I like a few, I guess. Definitely not Heckle and Jeckle. They're just jerks.
@AnkitSharma Not in the near future, sorry. This is way down on my list, if it's even on it at all
(Or did you mean the Challenge?)
Anyone seen the new Better Call Saul yet, BTW?

@Walt Watched initial 2-3 episode only from first season
Wow second season is coming out soon

11:56 AM
@Walt When?
@AnkitSharma No, why do you think that? Many of your suggestions were great ideas. And I'm just a single community member voting on them like anyone else, too.

@MovieReel Huh? Yes, it's YA sci-fi. What about it? I'm not sure I understand.
@AnkitSharma Yeah, a few days ago. I thought the first one was nice. Only possible flaw is that it wasn't that memorable, but it's probably because I'm unjustly comparing it to its predecessor

@NapoleonWilson I just joked about it.

Well, looks like my time here will be greatly curtailed. I'm starting my new job on Monday!

Congratulations then, and good luck!

@NapoleonWilson Spectre was great. I really liked it. I liked the Bond girl in it. She could almost be my favorite Bond girl,but noone can top Agent XXX. She's my favorite :)
@Catija CONGRATULATIONS!!! :))

:D Thanks, both of you. I'm going to miss you all, though.

@steelerfan WUT? No! Vesper Lynd forever! But yeah, Madeleine Swan was pretty good, too.

@Walt Can I tell you how much I loved Arrested Development? My soul was crushed that it got cancelled!! :'(

3:42 PM
@steelerfan Haha, I knew it!

@NapoleonWilson I always have to go with agent XXX. That's like my favorite Bond movie, although it's my least favorite Bond. Best name EVER for a bond girl and she's married to a Beatle IRL. Come ON!! ;)

@steelerfan Oh, to whom? But well, Not that that would help for me, I'm not the biggest Beatles enthusiast.

@Catija WHAT?!?! What do you mean miss us all?
@NapoleonWilson I'm not a huge Beatles fan either, but she's married to Ringo Starr

@steelerfan I will not likely be able to come here while at work, so it will really limit when I can be here... likely to times in the evening US, which is when Napoleon and Ankit and Andrew will be asleep.

Even though, hot French girls in all honour, but I found the romance between her and Bond in Spectre a little too overblown at the end compared to their time on screen. It felt like the movie tried to make more out of it than there was to it.

3:47 PM
@NapoleonWilson What? Did you like that show??

@steelerfan Of course, it's one of the best comedy shows to ever exist.

@NapoleonWilson Are you f***ing kidding me right now?? I LOVED that show!! It was so underappreciated. I have the box set, of course!! You do realize how incredibly awesome you are for loving that show don't you?

@steelerfan But to my modesty, there are many people who love that show, I think.
The problem was probably more that not so many people were aware of its existence. But I think those people who did delve into it largely found it great.

@NapoleonWilson Yeah, I don't understand why they did that. I want the old Bond! The Bond that would love them and leave them with no strings attached! He's James bond for God sakes!!

@steelerfan Well, it's the 2010s, you can't run around and bang girls left and right, there's gotta be a little more commitment nowadays, I guess. ;-)

3:55 PM
@NapoleonWilson The only other person that I am aware of that likes that show is my sister and now you!!!!

@steelerfan Well, Walt for once does, too.

@NapoleonWilson Yeah, but he's James bond!!! That's what he does!! ;)

@steelerfan But I think it's even more unknown in my part of the world, so I should be the one excited about the fact that you love it so much. But well, I actually am.

@NapoleonWilson Oh, right!! Walt likes it!! Duh.

@Catija Congrats. Where will you be working if I may ask?

3:59 PM
@NapoleonWilson YOU GOT EXCITED ABOUT SOMETHING!! HOORAY!! Haha! :))

@steelerfan I get excited about many things, I just might not always show it as extensively. ;-)

@MattD At a research laboratory at The University of Texas at Austin.
@steelerfan I'm not head over heels for it, but we've watched most of it on Hulu.

I'm still waiting for the film that was supposed to come one day. I hope they don't wait too long with it.

@NapoleonWilson Haha! Gotcha ;)

@Catija Nice, but my grandfather would feel a bit of hate for you. :P

4:03 PM
@Catija It was one of the few shows that I was obsessed with. It's not for everyone, though :)

@MattD Why? Did he go to A&M?

@Catija I don't believe so, but one of my uncles (maybe both) did, and he's been an Aggies fan either ever since or since before then. Don't really know the full story.
I'm pretty sure he never went to A&M himself, which amuses me when he jostles me for rooting for OSU even though I didn't go there. :P

@MattD Well, then you probably shouldn't tell him that UT's where I got my degree in the first place ;)

@NapoleonWilson I know, right? Arghh!!

@MattD My mom went to UT and her sister went to A&M... and my grandmother always rooted for A&M... and she was the little sister.

4:06 PM
@Catija I went to Ohio Dominican, a private Catholic school in Columbus. They only got a football team when I started going there, and they're division II (up from III when I was there), so there's absolutely no conflict of interest.
Besides that, nearly everyone in Columbus roots for OSU. I have friends who went to OU, BGSU, Miami, Toledo, Cincinatti, and they still root for OSU aside from if OSU plays their school.
It's one of those, "If you lived here you would probably get it," sort of deals.

@MattD Andy had the same thing happen to him. He went to Wooster... small, liberal arts, no real sports... but he was one of their pipers.

@Catija OSU is basically the only regularly good sports team for Columbus and Ohio in general. Browns constantly suck, and while the Bengals were good this year they still bungled things.
Lots of people refer to OSU as our national sports team. :P
The Columbus Crew did really good this year, but they also just got horrible new uniforms.

:D When Andy and I first met, I think it was one of the years UT and OSU played each other. We're not sports people but it was fun. His sister likes them, and went to OSU for a while, until she had her baby... and I think Andy's dad went there, too.

@Catija I think I remember that year. I wanna say it was 2005?

@MattD Well, you could become a Steeler fan. Just sayin' ;)

4:10 PM
HA HA HA! That looks like soccer?
That's amusing they use another sport's term for the team name... "Crew" usually means rowing. :P

@Catija Yeah, the Crew is our MLS team. Decent sized following and a source of pride for many in Columbus, but those new uniforms are getting blasted.

I particularly feel bad for the guy who has his tucked in.... such a bad choice.

@NapoleonWilson So is Casino Royale your favorite Bond movie, then?

@Catija Yeah, the shirts don't look half bad, but it's the shorts that kill the whole thing.
They look like kindergartners who's moms let them dress themselves for the first time.
@steelerfan If we're just talking new Bond movies, Skyfall is my favorite.

@MattD Have you seen all of the movies? Yeah, Skyfall was pretty good.

4:24 PM
@steelerfan I have not, though I own the Bond 50 collection complete with Skyfall.

OMG, look at the awesome swag that Chemistry is getting: meta.chemistry.stackexchange.com/questions/3132/…

@steelerfan Not necessarily, but it's one of my favourites for sure. I think it's hard to pin down an absolute favourite. It's easier to pick one for each era. That being said it might indeed be my favourite from the Craig era, though Skyfall was great, too.
@Catija Whoa, that mug is cool. Once upon a time they baited us with a mug, too. :'(

@NapoleonWilson Yes! The mug is awesome!

@NapoleonWilson Well, Brosnan was my favorite Bond, but, yeah, Skyfall and Spectre were both equally great.
@MattD Well, I grew up with Bond. My dad is a HUGE Bond fan. Skyfall is a great Bond movie :)

@steelerfan From the Brosnan era it's either Goldeneye or The World Is Not Enough. Speaking Bond girls, Sophie Marceau's Electra King was absolutely great. While Goldeneye has one of the best songs ever.

4:30 PM
@NapoleonWilson OMFG!! I was just typing how she is one of my favorite Bond girls!!!! Stop reading my mind!!! ;)

@NapoleonWilson GoldenEye was just fantastic, and then it gradually went downhill until we got to Die Another Day, which nearly killed the franchise.

@steelerfan I can't, apparently.

@steelerfan 1-3 were great. Almost comedy overload, so many different kinds of jokes crammed into every minute. A bit too loopy at times, esp. near the end, but I loved it, and it had such a talented cast

@NapoleonWilson It's getting spooky up in here!! ;)

@Walt No problem, I wasn't sure about the phrase anyway, thanks for correcting (and I wouldn't call anyone a nazi who isn't one anyway).

4:36 PM
Oh, and ELL got a site design proposal! The design team seem to be making some great strides.meta.ell.stackexchange.com/questions/2912/…

@Catija They really seem to be getting it on after that hiatus last year.

@NapoleonWilson Second time today I've seen that term used...
@NapoleonWilson Yeah, it seems like it.

@Catija Well, it's a rather common term among the internet (unfortunately).

@Walt OMG!! My favorite episode has to be where Gob tries to escape from his dad's prison and swallows the key..........God! Hilarious!!

@steelerfan "I'm... white..." :)

4:38 PM
@NapoleonWilson Sure... I've used it myself.

@Walt HAHA!! GOD, I LOVE THAT SHOW!!

It's one of the... less horrid uses of the term... and I always use it to refer to myself, the way that guy did...

I loved it when they suddenly played a joke that you could only get if you've seen an episode long ago, and if you got it it was amazing. They had quite a lot of such running gags.

@Catija Sorry, so are you saying the internet Powers That Be have decided the phrase is non-PC now? God, they could be such PC na- dammit!

@NapoleonWilson Do you have the box set?

4:40 PM
@Walt HA HA. I don't have an issue with it, personally.

@steelerfan No, I've never bought a box set of a TV show, though that show was one of the 2 or 3 where I genuinely considered it once.

@NapoleonWilson Tons, though I'm guessing nothing trumps Community's Beetlejuice brick joke

I just don't like it, not only because it's simply too colloquial a use of a term by people who I'd deem rather ignorant of its actual meaning (might that even be a prejudice on my side), but also because it implies that caring for proper grammar is in any way a bad thing. It's both downplaying nazis and overblowing grammar strictness simultaneously.

@steelerfan I have 1-3, yes

@NapoleonWilson Yeah, I have Arrested Development and The Tudors. My husband has a truckload of them.
@Walt I'm going to have to bust out my box set this weekend!!

4:43 PM
@steelerfan Always a good idea
@steelerfan What did you think of 4?

@Walt I haven't watched in a while. You guys have inspired me to. It's just no fun watching alone. I will have to watch with my sister. She's the only one that gets that show that I can watch with.
@Walt Uhm, it was ok, not nearly as brilliant as 1-3

@steelerfan And as a bonding experience, even better :)
@steelerfan Yeah... :/

@Walt Of course!! My sister and I have the same personality/sense of humor. We have the same brain. I still haven't figured out if that is a good or bad thing ;)

@steelerfan I'd vote for good.

@steelerfan It's great! It means either of you always has a spare :) So, like, when you're too busy to chat, your sister could take overheyyyy, you're steelerfan's sister, aren't you?!

4:49 PM
My husband hated Arrested Development! He just didn't get it!! I should have been tipped off when he didn't like Monty Python or Christopher Guest movies!! Pfft! ;)
@Walt HAHA!! Oh, God. She would have me banned from here with her mouth ;)

@steelerfan Hmmm. Quick, what's Richard's favorite team?

@steelerfan But wasn't her husband here once?

@NapoleonWilson Awwww :) Uhm, if you have ever seen the two of us together, then you would probably take that back! Hehehe :)

@Walt The orange one.

@Catija No, it's Napoleon who loves all things orange

4:54 PM
@Walt Yes... but I thought Richard's team was the Tigers...?

I've surmised that you're all your siblings

@NapoleonWilson HAHA!! That's right!! My brother in law was in here a while ago when he was getting annoyed at us for laughing so hard at Wad's Husky!! OMG!! That was frigging hilarious!!
Richard loves any team that is rivals with the Steelers ;)

@steelerfan Ah. That makes sense. I guess I must have been in here when it was the Tigers that day.

@Walt Hehehe:) I guess my sister and I are pretty much the same person ;)
@Catija Yeah, he saw that the Bengals were ahead of the Steelers at the beginning of the season, so he miraculously became a Bengals fan ;)

@steelerfan Oh, Bengals... HA HA.

4:58 PM
@steelerfan How'd that work out for your parents?

@Catija :)

Are the Tigers Baseball? There is a team called that... right?
The Detroit Tigers are an American professional baseball team based in Detroit, Michigan. The Tigers compete in the Central division of the American League (AL) in Major League Baseball (MLB). One of the AL's eight charter franchises, the club was founded in Detroit in 1894 as part of the Western League. They are the oldest continuous one-name, one-city franchise in the AL. The Tigers have won four World Series championships (1935, 1945, 1968, and 1984), 11 AL pennants (1907, 1908, 1909, 1934, 1935, 1940, 1945, 1968, 1984, 2006, and 2012), and four AL Central division championships (2011, 2012...
Ah!

@Walt My dad's favorite saying: "You god damn kids are going to put me into an early grave" that pretty much says it all!! Hehehe :)

@steelerfan Not double the bliss then? :(

@Walt Haha! My dad raised us by himself, so he was pretty strict with us and we tested his patience more than a few times ;)
@Catija Detroit also has Lions!! ;)

5:03 PM
@steelerfan Interesting. If they had Bears, too, they'd have the Wizard of Oz trifecta!
0
A: How "kid" friendly is Star Wars VII The Force Awakens?

Chris PietschmannHaving seen the movie now; now with my kids BTW. If your kid can watch the old Star Wars movies, then I'd say they can watch the new movie. Violence and such is really similar in amount and style to the older movies.

@Catija HAHA! I know! Their basketball team should have been the bears, but they settled on the Pistons!! Pfft!

@NapoleonWilson I just realized I already nagged you about not watching AD4, like a year back. I'm repeating myself
@Catija Huh? This is old. So bumped Qs appear on chat too?

@Walt We're all reaping ourselves here every once in a while anyway.
@Walt Only when the users actively post links to them. ;-P

@Walt I posted it... because I think it's dumb.

@Catija Oh, right, sorry. Didn't notice

5:10 PM
No prob.

OMG. I watched Spectre with my father in law lastnight, I swear to God, every time a firearm is shown in a movie, the men in my family are all over it!! The minute Bond pulled out his gun, he is shouting "SIG 226" Haha!
@NapoleonWilson Also, they were drinking dirty martinis in Spectre!!! My favorite!!

This is a nice ID one. Any action fans in the house?

@steelerfan The one where the olive is swimming in it, right?

@NapoleonWilson YES!! I can't believe Bond asked for a dirty martini!!

@Walt Not familiar with anything like that.

5:15 PM
@Catija Well, it was worth a shot. It's not my strongest suit

Sure. Wish I could help.

@Catija Why that answer is accepted :O
OOOhhhhhh.....missed too much chat

@AnkitSharma Because the OP wrote it himself.
Apparently Ixrec's answer wasn't sufficient.

@Catija Didn't noticed that
But still i am with Ixrec

@AnkitSharma That's OK, it wasn't real. Everyone traded places with their brothers and sisters to mess with my head. Joke's on them, I'm actually Walt's Lhasa Apso.
Off to howl at garbagemen

Where is Mike at? I haven't seen him around here :(

@steelerfan He seems to have taken a general break from the less serious parts of community participation on SE (or all parts?).

@NapoleonWilson :'(
Well, that just SUCKS!!

Though, I'm just judging from impression rather than knowledge.

Oh, I am sure. It's just been weird not seeing him in here or over "there" :(

@NapoleonWilson I think he was sad after losing the election... and he changed his username and avatar, too...

5:30 PM
@Catija Oh no. I hope it wasn't just because of the election :( That makes me.........just..........sad :'(

@Catija I don't think it was just losing, he isn't that kind of bitter loser, I think. It was probably more the whole useless "we hate the new moderator and are going to delete our accounts completely" attitude by some of the other users and the whole surrounding drama. He doesn't seem to be a big drama fan, which is understandable. But so much to my speculation at least.

@NapoleonWilson Sure, that makes sense.

Yeah, Mike was not one for drama, but he was still frigging hilarious and very smart.

I flagged this as NAA but it's almost more like spam :P movies.stackexchange.com/a/47677/16420

@Catija Oh, yeah, I can see deleted stuff now.

Q: Movie? Maybe tv Movie? Portal and alien beings grown over with barnacle type things.

Carson HockleyI saw this when I was a kid. All I can remember is that there was this giant portal slowly consuming the city or maybe whole world. People could go through it and it led to maybe another world? When the people from this other world were getting sick their skin was growing over with what looked li...

@MattD I know! It's fun, right!

Anyway, l8ers!

@NapoleonWilson Bye :'(

5:52 PM
@Catija It's definitely interesting.
Ugh, I feel like I'm already mentally checked out of my current job and I'm still waiting to hear back on some interviews I've had in the last couple weeks.

Well, I am mentally checked out of my personal life, so I hear ya!

I'm just sitting here listening to some Pink Floyd, occasionally typing in here, and I need to start building some documentation for something another manager wants.
In a project I don't really care to touch again, and the same manager wants a new thing that I wouldn't mind building but they want this other thing done first.

Ugh. Sounds like TPS reports ;)

More like for some reason she wants to know the details of the 23 different queries that are run using a lookup tool I simply modified some stuff into. Each of the queries is dynamically generated depending on what you're looking for, so I'd have to step through all 23 instances to pull out what I need.

That entire statement made my head want to explode ;)

6:07 PM
It's also sort of frustrating because I interviewed with one company nearly 2 weeks ago and they still haven't provided feedback. Apparently they "misplaced" the notes they had taken during my interview. Not sure I want to go there anyway, but now it's more because they don't seem to have their shit together.
Another place I interviewed at a few days ago I might not want to go to as I don't particularly like their business model (they do check cashing/payday loan type stuff), their CEO has made some choice comments on attempts to regulate their industry, and I just don't think I can sleep knowing my paycheck likely came from people in a bind financially.
One place I'd like to interview hasn't said whether they want to or not, and while I have a couple other irons in the fire, I'm dealing with stuff I'd rather not be doing while being told to wait on the stuff I'd like to be doing.

What does your wife want you to do?

@steelerfan Not sure what you mean.
I'm not hurting for a job, and I'm good to go where I'm at through May on contract, possibly June, but I've gained some momentum lately with what I've been working on and it feels like I'm having a bit of wind taken out of my sails.

@MattD What is her opinion on you wanting to get another job? Does she care at all? Does she just want you to be happy no matter the salary/benefits you will get?

@steelerfan Oh, gotcha. Where I'm at you can only be on contract for 2.5 years (they renew it every three months). You either go perm with them at some point after you hit 6 months, or you find something elsewhere. So she's known this would be coming for a while.
We both agree I'm not under any serious pressure to find something quickly, and I can afford to be rather picky for now. She wants me to be happy and all that jazz, so there's no real issue or concern on her end.
I'm just bored at work is all.

6:23 PM
@MattD Well, you're very lucky to have a great wife!

I really am.

I'm usually always bored at work on overnight shifts :)

Well at least with my gig, working late has the perks of me being able to more openly watch stuff via my phone if I wanted to. :P
Evidently a lot of people around here do it anyway, but I just feel guilty when it's during core business hours.

Yeah, overnight shifts drag on if you can't keep yourself busy. I'm usually pretty busy during day/swing shift. It all depends on the day. It's NEVER the same!

Q: Iron Man front plate change?

StevenBefore Tony creates the new element the chest plate on the Iron Man suit is round. After the new element is created, there isn't enough time for Jarvis to finish running diagnostics before Tony uses it. When did the chest plate change to the new triangle shape that is seen when Tony shows up ...

Q: Identify this movie

ParkerOkay I don't really know if this is a movie or a TV show I was 7 and it's bugged me for years this would be the 90s. what I remember is there is this boy and on a class field trip they go to a woods he gets bullied or lost I don't know but he's by a creak and meets this like boy Scout and he's s...

Tonight it's dinner at a nice steakhouse followed by Zoolander 2, and maybe a brief jaunt to the barcade near the theater, though.

Hooray!! I was supposed to see Z2 at the late showing lastnight, but didn't make it. Be sure to tell us all how you liked it!!

@steelerfan Based on some headlines I've gleaned and the ad campaign for the last few weeks, I'm already thinking I'm going to hate it.

@MattD Yeah, I have heard it compared to Dumb and dumber to which was too horrible for words.

Q: Comedy from the end of the eighties about a casanvoa

Ola MelénI am looking for a movie from the end of the eighties or perhaps the beginning of the nineties. It is about a man who is a real casanova and he needs to stop the casanova life and settle down. The cover of the movie is showing a babe in only her panties (zoomed in so the waist + little part of le...

@MattD I'd always thought the triangle on Iron Man was related to the switch from the circle of the arc reactor to when he had it removed... am I wrong?
Triangles with flattened corners? Like the Superman logo shape-ish?

@Catija As noted in my answer, the predecessor to that armor, the Mark VII, returns to the circular version.
@Catija Yes.

@MattD I think the problem is that I simply don't know which suit is which. Clearly I need an image-based guide :P

@Catija Right, I'm mostly gleaning what I can from some Iron Man wiki that's out there, but as far as I remember it was the only suit Tony wore that featured the triangle unibeam emitter.

The triangle could be related to V for Vibranium...
I think pictures would make your answer better ;) Pictures are magic.

7:36 PM
@MovieReel Sounds like my prom date. Hehehe :)

@Catija Possibly, but I'm also feeling a bit lazy at the moment. I do provide links to the suits in question for others to view, though.

Ah, I see the VII is round again... Hmmm... But it's the lightweight suitcase one... I wonder if maybe he'd planned it before hand or something... or they were reusing parts.
OH, wait, I'm misreading... the V is the suitcase one.

@Catija Correct. It was designed to be carried in a briefcase for quick deployment in civilian situations.
But it was basically destroyed when he first fought Whiplash at the race.

Yeah. I haven't watched the films recently enough... and then in the last one he went bonkers with all the hundreds of different suits and keeping up wasn't an option. I really want to know what happened to Pepper, though... they sort of skimmed over even mentioning it in the last Avengers film... which I get... they mostly leave that stuff to the character-specific films but it's still frustrating.

Yeah, I haven't seen the Iron Man or Avengers films in a while, I just have a fairly stupid good memory for these things. :P

Q: Why is Ant-Man considered MCU?

Johnny BonesThis may be a bad question, because admittedly I never saw Ant-Man all the way through. I tried twice and it put me to sleep both times. That being said... I was trying to find a proper timeline for the MCU today and came across a number of them which included Ant-Man. These same timelines do...

8:33 PM
@MovieReel So apparently this person wants to know why Ant-Man is considered part of the MCU, but they haven't seen all of Ant-Man? Why not watch the whole damn movie to learn how it all ties in?

@MattD He tried... twice... Clearly that's an issue.
:P
Do you know what cde means in his comment on my answer?

Q: Where in the movie *The good, the bad and the ugly* is its main theme played?

eirikdaudeI came across the main theme from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, in a different setting, and following this me and some friends started discussing where in the movie it is played. I figured it should be easy enough to find out by googling, or searching for the theme on youtube, but I've had litt...

@MovieReel Oh, look, someone else who's too lazy to just watch the movie.

8:48 PM
@MovieReel Grrrr..........wow it attracted scifi users too. I might have answered it but now its too late,
Strangely this time i don't like answer from @Catija
His question was is ant-man canon to MCU and how? But your answer was too much from comic point of view

@AnkitSharma Their Question bot caught it before ours did, so they all glommed onto it.
@AnkitSharma Because it's not clear... he seems to imply what the connection is between Ant-Man and the other MCU characters... so I'm creating that connection.

@Catija I don't mind till they say "come to dark side we have cookies"

@Catija Not every person that's shown in Avengers media is actually a member of The Avengers.
@Catija I flagged that question as pointless trivia.

@Catija hmmmm, i am more satisfied with cde's answer but his comment to your answer seems like a code which only batman can decode.

@MattD I just don't know who that is that he's talking about.
@MattD Yeah, I saw your note. Doesn't seem to matter to the story when the main theme is... still thinking.

8:54 PM
@MattD Still make no sense regarding the question.

@Catija Technically Falcon wasn't a member of the team until the very end of Age of Ultron, but he helped them out regardless. Same for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

On the side note, i am going for deadpool tomorrow :)
I am too happy

> The character has since starred in two self-titled limited series with husband the Vision and appears as a regular team member in superhero title the Avengers.
The Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in X-Men #4 (March 1964) and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The character has since starred in two self-titled limited series with husband the Vision and appears as a regular team member in superhero title the Avengers. Scarlet Witch is initially depicted as a mutant, born with the ability to alter reality in unspecific ways. Originally introduced as the daughter of the Golden Age superhero Whizzer, a retcon later established she and her...
That was in 1965...

Scarlet Witch is more fun with X-men. Marvel copyright sucks

@AnkitSharma I'm jealous! I want to see it so badly.

8:57 PM
@Catija Right, but we're talking about the movie. She may have helped them towards the end, but she wasn't actually a member of the team until after Ultron was defeated.
I'm not seeing Deadpool until Tuesday. :(

@MattD I just don't see how that relates to cde's comment.

@Catija I am trying from yesterday (Thursday), but my rule of not going alone made it hard. Now finally booked tickets.

@AnkitSharma So delete the comment... it's not connected to a specific question on SFF... it's just advertising.

@Catija What?

7 close vote review :O wow.

@Catija I'd ask CDE what he means then. I can't make heads or tails of him sometimes, and oftentimes I just let him do his own thing.
