@ProgramFOX @Megi, I implemented the exec command on bot builtins

Is that Python eval or executable file execution?

I did it on a feature branch, @ProgramFOX I'll leave it to you to merge the branches
do so with --no-ff if you do
@ProgramFOX neither, it executes the arguments as a SE-Chatbot command

Oh, cool!

Bot started.
Executes the text supplied to it as if it were a command. Syntax: @>exec command

@>exec cat test test

8:25 AM
@ProgramFOX test test

this is a step towards SE-Chatbot becoming a programming language in its own right

I guess it is, yeah.

@ProgramFOX That probably would have been smarter
is smarter*
@Mego I misspelled your name earlier. ^
have a look at the pull request above

@ProgramFOX I've pushed the changes to SE_Chatbot as well now.

Oh, right, forgot about that. Thanks!

@ProgramFOX heh
But I can try to fix the results of my stupidity :)

12:47 PM
Mego: here's the fix for the stupidity caused bug github.com/ProgramFOX/SE-Chatbot-Builtins/commit/…
By the way @ProgramFOX, @ArtOfCode added indicators for when a command needs privilege or is owner-only to the listcommands command

cool!
that's a good idea, yeah

It's all pushed up to builtins, and overactor updated the submodules in SEC so I didn't break it :)

Do we need to add an argument to listcommands to make the list just space separated?
so we can do
$>exec {{cat {{randomchoice {{listcommands}}}}}} test

Would be confusing regarding the argument parsing; we already have an optional argument to list all commands in a specific module.

we do?

12:58 PM
yeah
in Sandbox, 8 secs ago, by FOX 9000
Commands in `admin`:
stop, disable, enable, ban, unban, delete

Today I learned

it's either that or just a new command

btw, data-bot has added sorting to the command list, should we do the same?

1:26 PM
@overactor Hmm, I don't see why not.

We set up the bot to make fun of you whenever you try to use a command

!help

@quartata I'm Data, Mego's chatbot. You can find the source code on GitHub. You can get a list of all commands by running !listcommands, or you can run !help command to learn more about a specific command.

Why is that still broken

okay, can bf be a shortcut for brainfuck?
@Mego ^

Anonymous
That's handled at the TIO level

one second

We could make bf a synonym, but it wouldn't be as clean

7:37 PM
pls

@Mego I don't give a shit about clean code I'm doing it
Our code is already superbly ugly anyways

@Mego Not my fault.
Why did you edit RUNNING

!eval vitsy "\"]gnorw-si-xela:gat[\"Z"

Anonymous
Two reasons

7:47 PM

Anonymous
1. I realized it was much simpler than I originally thought

Anonymous
2. I am still strongly against the RUNNING/DEVELOP directories. That's what source control is for.

3. you're a rebel

Anonymous
3a. without a cause

anyways I'll fix it up

Anonymous
7:49 PM
I should add in the ability to load/save config details at runtime

Anonymous
Through pickling and such

SaveIO :)

@Mego Shit I just noticed there's a bunch of changes in RUNNING not in DEVELOP
why are you doing this
well I guess we'll just abandon DEVELOP

Anonymous
@quartata My goal is achieved

What we should be doing for version control:

Anonymous
7:56 PM
Every time we make a change and determine that it doesn't break anything, make a commit

Anonymous
And then push whenever

lol

8:47 PM
For the record: I plan on adding languages as submodules in the local version of Data (with the possible exception of Pyth, because isaac hosts it on SourceForge with subversion rather than git), so the question about using online resources is kind of moot
