9:05 AM
hey
Hmm nice @Mast, we're getting good inactives on the server now?

1 hour later…
10:08 AM
@skiwi Yup, right on time.
I thought it would take a little longer.

Sounds like it's about to get interesting
One positive thing about not being able to do a long fleetsave... I can play earlier as I'm kinda sick today and didn't go to uni

I'm mostly running simulations today, which takes a bit of time as well. Like compiling.

Means you can do whatever you want? ;)

@skiwi 50% of the time, yea.

And the other 50% you are looking at the simulations? ^^
I often tend to get too involved when I'm watching automatic processes

10:14 AM
Hopefully I can finally implement a working viewer today.
@skiwi Yea, same here.

What is it you're working on anyways?

10:34 AM
@skiwi For OGNext or for work?

For work

Radiocommunications in a mesh network in urban ground-level areas.
I'm currently redesigning a component to fill the requirements for the next use-case.

All hardware?

At the moment, yes.
The hardware will be compatible with older versions which already have software written for them.
No need to write the same thing twice.

Ah, nice

11:10 AM
For some reason the alignment is all messed-up...
@skiwi Do you prefer the Btn* style or CVw* style?
One is welled, the other isn't.

I think the CVw

12:17 PM
[skiwi2/OGNext] skiwi2 pushed commit aed7ad93 to develop: Added Fleet domain object and linked it to the Planet domain object, added FleetService and migrations.
[skiwi2/OGNext] skiwi2 pushed commit 4e7b2189 to develop: Removed extra whitespace.

Could use some extra padding ^^

For some reason the padding on the 2nd button row isn't working like it is on the top row.

What part of the site is this though?

div#above-graph-row {
    margin-top:2%;
    margin-bottom:2%;
}

div#below-graph-row {
    margin-top:2%;
    margin-bottom:2%;
}
Identical...
@skiwi It's not on the server yet
Only working stuff is on the server ^^

12:23 PM
I mean what part of the system
What does it represent

Graph viewer.

Which graphs can we put in there?

Every.
Playerscore, alliance score, amount of planets of a player over time, etc.

Okay

[skiwi2/OGNext] skiwi2 pushed commit c31a0cd9 to develop: Added controller method to accept sending of fleet of an user.
[skiwi2/OGNext] skiwi2 pushed commit 5eb6c306 to develop: Added service method to BuildingsService to update the number of solar satellites.
[skiwi2/OGNext] skiwi2 pushed commit af209b79 to develop: Added controller method to accept sending of shipyard of an user, closes #16.

12:44 PM
@Duga Can we also store enemy fleets now or just scraped fleets?

[skiwi2/OGNext] skiwi2 pushed commit 03b6c653 to develop: Renamed level parameter in defences, fleet and shipyard to amount.
[skiwi2/OGNext-Userscript] skiwi2 pushed commit 0429105e to develop: Renamed level parameter of defences to amount.

@Mast The issue solved is explicitly for storing own fleet
But the domain model can be used for any fleet

I suspected as much, good.

You'd really think I'd make something non-generic? ^^

No ^^
I'm happily surprised ever time I see the contents of a commit.

12:54 PM
Good

1:22 PM
By now we store everything of the player, right? Buildings, Fleet, Defence and Research.
Putting that in a view would make an empire monitor.
Making that responsive is going to be awful.
How many planets do we support on one screen, maximum of 9? What if somebody has 12?

@Mast Yep

You can't shrink columns indefinitely.

I'm not sure if we should have an empire overview

Legal reasons?

Might conflict with GF

1:28 PM
Yea, I was thinking about that.

Though I do want some kind of overview where we can see if everything is imported correctly
Just maybe not super nicely formatted?

Would make for a good question on gamedev/law/somewhere.
@skiwi I can do datadumps.

Just a simple HTML table with planets as columns and other as rows should be enough

2:06 PM
Are we storing moons yet?

2:36 PM
@Mast Nope
That's a bigger todo ^^
Essentially it's copying the planet and copying everything that involves the planet, ugh
Don't know a real better solution atm

Make the moon a child and member of the planet.
Or well, not sure if it should be a child. But definitely a member.
Perhaps planet should be a member of moon, basically a planet is a moon + coordinates.

That's another issue, I'm thinking to store them seperately though
Bigger duplication-wise issue is that planet and moon are different concepts, so logically we should treat them as such (no inheritance)
But the only difference they have is that one has PlanetBuildings and other MoonBuildings

They should both inherit from a base class.
Make everything they have exactly in common part of the base, let them both inherit and expand on that.

I think that's going to give a load of trouble with Grails right now

Why?

2:54 PM
Because Grails ^^
Bleh, players are too active today
And I"m really short on deut ^^
At least on my new main

3:07 PM
@skiwi Want some?
200k enough?

3:36 PM
@Mast I'd need to be able to pay for that :P
I could use some... but it's at 1:370:8

@skiwi I can bring it you anywhere.
Happen to have cryst? Although I'll take anything for it, 3:2:1.

I'd prefer some mix of metal and crystal

Sure.

Sorry I'm not that good at multitasking ^^
How much deut are you willing to trade?
I'm thinking about 1:1 ratio metal:crystal then
@Mast Can we do it now?
I'm here for a bit :P

3:56 PM
@skiwi In that case I'm hoping for a lot of crystal :P

I've got about 9M metal, 3M crystal
Eh wait, that's Izar
Got 350K metal and 160K crystal on 1:370 now

@skiwi Between 150 and 200k.

I'll take 150K then

For 150k cryst and 150k metal?

That would be 450K metal = 1.5:1 ratio with m:c gives 270K metal, 180K crystal?
Does that make sense?

4:00 PM
You're proposing to send 270k metal and 180k crystal instead?
That would work.
Is actually quite a good deal for me.

I'm not sure
150K deut is worth 300K crystal at max?

Usually in a starting universe the ratio is 3:2:1.
3 metal for a deut. 2 cryst for a deut.

Yeah, I think my math is off

So 450k metal for 150k deut or 300k cryst.

because 120K crystal can never translate to 270K metal
It says I give you 180K metal and 180K crystal in return
But I don't have 180K crystal just 160K :P

4:03 PM
So 180k crystal would be 90k deut, leaving 60k deut worth 180k metal. Yes.

225K metal and 150K crystal then?

That means 160k crystal worth 80k deut, leaving 70k deut worth 210k metal.
Or 150k crystal worth 75k deut, leaving 75k deut worth 225k metal, yes.
Sure.

Coords? ^^

1:31:12

Ok

4:07 PM
You at 1:370:8?

Yep

ETA in 55 minutes.
I'm glad you no longer need to account for fuel in your transport bay.

Two fleets even ^^

4:25 PM
@skiwi Like I'm going to store 200k deut in one location ^^
One of my planets is kind-of a dedicated deut factory.

5:00 PM
@Mast Right

[skiwi2/OGNext-Userscript] skiwi2 pushed commit 2ca9d303 to develop: Fleet numbers are now scraped from the Fleet page and sent to the OGNext instance.
[skiwi2/OGNext-Userscript] skiwi2 pushed commit 23473877 to develop: Changed incorrectly named buildingId to defenceId in the processDefenceNodes function.
[skiwi2/OGNext-Userscript] skiwi2 pushed commit 38b65609 to develop: Fleet numbers are now scraped from the Shipyard page and sent to the OGNext instance, closes #15.
> Data that is unique for every planet (Defences, Fleet, Shipyard, Buildings, etc.) is currently cached per player via `executeIfNotCached` which uses `getFullCacheKey`, which in turn uses `getSetting` which uses `getFullSettingsKey` which uses the server group, universe id, player id and the key.

This means that if two planets have the same data, they will not get updated correctly.

As solution the planetId should be included in the cache key, additionally a new mechanism should be used t

With great power comes new bugs

5:19 PM
lol

2 hours later…
6:58 PM

3 hours later…
10:26 PM
I should investigate that tomorrow ^^
Just spotted it while turning off my PC
It doesn't like something with the crystalMine for sure

10:46 PM
Attribuut van entiteit mag niet leeg zijn.
You programmed your errors in Dutch? ^^
@skiwi Probably a parsing problem of sorts.
