@BESW I initally missed the "as" and thought you were using "Shia LaBouf" as a verb.

Heh.
Also, it's plural: Shias LaBouf.
Like "attorneys general."

....

It's one of my favorite image acros.

You should name that guy Blackinola
The Blackelf Ranger
Weapon focus (Pimp Hand)

...that's not very appropriate.

It was a joke

This is not the place for that kind of joke.

I wasn't aware that RPG General chat classified their jokes.
"You shouldn't tell that kind of joke vs. This kind of joke is okay to say here" who defines what is and isn't a place for any kind of joke?

In addition to this chat making conscious effort to be a safe, comfortable place for people, it's subject to the general Stack Exchange guidelines on behaviour:

I didn't know "Black" was offensive. To anyone. Calling someone black isn't a racial slur. It's PG-13 at best.
What specifically is offensive? Blackinola is the name of a streamer on the internet who streams league of legends
A black elf would be pretty much the same as a white elf, only darker skinned
Weapon Focus (Pimp Hand ) could possibly be considered offensive to prostitutes who have to deal with pimps I suppose

@Sandwich Oh, so you're really trying to claim you weren't playing on racial stereotypes here?

Stereotypes are often funny, outright racism isn't.

If you really want to talk about why seeing a portrait and immediately making two jokes about the subject's skin colour, and then associating the subject with prostitution using a phrase commonly associated WITH that race, is offensive, we can take it to the Not A Bar.
Or you could accept that when someone is offended, they're offended and it's rude to try to tell them they're wrong to be so.
As for "Blackinola" being some guy's handle somewhere that's not the Stack Exchange, I fail to see what other parts of the Internet have to do with policies here.
Other parts of the Internet do some pretty awful stuff, and the Stack Exchange's behaviour policies are designed to make this a place where that DOESN'T happen.

Blackinola isn't even an offensive internet handle. And I would agree with you on this point. Tumblr in particular I believe.

In fact, whatever. This whole thing is going to the Not A Bar right now.

Look man, I'm sorry for offending you.
It wasn't meant to be offensive to anyone.
It was a joke.

No one said you were trying to be offensive, just that it ended up being so.

Now you know that it is pretty offensive, and I hope you take that on board for the future.

That's the point where you say "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to", rather than trying to justify it.

Yeah.... "I'm sorry you're offended, but you're wrong to be offended" is a poor apology. And jokes aren't magically exempt from basic decency.
For whatever reason, it's easier for jokes to cross the line. I recognise that.
But that doesn't make it okay for them to.
Now, we'll put this behind us so long as we learn from it.

Indeed.

If you feel you'd benefit from a discussion about why your comments felt like "ha ha he's black," and why people feel that's not cool, we can have that talk. I know it's not always something people are comfortable talking about so you may not have had the opportunity.
