I am soon visiting Japan. I have a son who is not yet 16.
Is it okay if I bring him to shop / walk on the street after 11.00 pm, which this period the Japan government disallows teens below 16 to be outside their home?
I wonder if this is a known bug, I have up-voted several days till I got the message you have no votes left, wait .. hours till you can vote again, and non of those cases the number of votes on my activity page (where they show how many more votes you need to get the 'vox populi' badge) did get up to 40. I get the impression that the site loses count when you up-vote a few times in a short time span, but does keep count when you give it a few minutes after each vote.
Yes, but I think I did 40 votes (although there might have been one flag if it) that day I got the suffrage badge
I am working hard on getting those votes today, but my day (personal) is nearly gone. Mostly I start working at 7 AM so midnight is bedtime, tomorrow is a national holiday and I have it off, but it is still late.
I recently read Saudi Arabia 'fatwa over building of snowmen'. A religious scholar issued a fatwa (which merely means legal opinion) against the building of snowmen, or snow models of animals (such as snow camels). Later in the article, it states that fatwas have basis under Saudi law. (Did they ...
I've read that cat meat is eaten in Switzerland.
Stop eating cats and dogs say animal rights campaigners in Switzerland cites an animal rights activist saying that it's not legal to sell cat meat (presumably it's talking about uncooked meat), but it's legal to eat your own.
Are there restaurant...
Last night, I read on the news that Qantas was switching its main hub from Singapore to Dubai.

It looks like reports of a women-only city in Saudi Arabia are greatly exaggerated. But are there any other places in the world where the population is entirely or almost entirely female?
The place doesn't have to be particularly large, but there has to be a cause of it being mostly female. A to...
I'm planning on going to a mixed gender onsen (konyoku), and one place suggested to me in Nyuto onsen village, Tohoku, has a male only section, a female only section, and a mixed section. If I'm by myself (as opposed to being part of a mixed sex group), am I going to raise eyebrows if I choose th...
The other day, I read about "otohime", also known as "sound princess":
Many Japanese women are embarrassed at the thought of being heard by
others during urination (see paruresis). To cover the sound of
bodily functions, many women used to flush public toilets continuously
while using t...

Please note, we gave the vote cast enough time to update but still it does not match the counter shown in the badge tracker. The thing is, the guy is new to SE and made serial votes, these votes most likely got rolled back, yet they still shown in the tracker but not in the vote c...

I think it's interesting the way Stack Overflow has garnered such a following.
I think that the success of Stack Overflow has a lot to do with how Stack Overflow is taking advantage of how people think in novel ways.
By awarding "Badges" and "Reputation", I believe that the Stack Overflow syste...
Due you to some serious danger to my life (religion) basis, I am willing to apply for the Australian Asylum.
I would like to mention that I am already in Australia but I am on student visa and more than one year still left in my visa expiration.
I would like to ask that if I apply for the asylu...
