Anyone interested in making a trop-searching app? @Scimonster @HodofHod

4:24 AM
For that use-case alone?

5:13 AM
@HodofHod Anyone who may want to search for trop patterns or unusual instances or whatever. In all of Tanakh ideally.
@DoubleAA I don't see how this question is on topic. — Shmuel Brin 5 hours ago

Could a mod de-feature MYP now?
And there's no parsha event showing.

@Scimonster Should we use your parshiyos or mine?
@Scimonster Holy cow.

12:30 PM
@Shokhet Maybe both. It's not like we have tons of stuff up there right now.

@DoubleAA There's a fun and educational FB comment thread happening about that that includes a citation of an answer of yours by the author of the book you cite therein.
@DoubleAA I used the CSV file and a little bit of simple Excel filtering to find some errors in the base text (e.g. missing sofei pasuk). I reported them to Sefaria via bachrach44, since they use the same base text and have the ability and, I think, willingness, to correct errors in it.

Partial duplicate of judaism.stackexchange.com/q/50750. Perhaps edit this so it's less of a duplicate? — msh210 ♦ 1 min ago
Any thoughts on how to do so (or whether it's necessary at all)?

2:13 PM
@IsaacMoses I can assure R Schorr that I was well aware of the purpose of his (excellent!) book.

@msh210 ... and for mi.yodeya.com/q/1 and mi.yodeya.com/questions/1. This is a big deal, as it breaks many links to our content out there in the wild, including all of the ones in MY Publications and nearly everything tweeted to date by the @mi_yodeya twitter account. — Isaac Moses 34 secs ago
^^^ @msh210 @DoubleAA @MonicaCellio Could you please flag this to SE staff? That's a lot of broken links out there. 8^(

5:28 PM
@IsaacMoses They're looking into it now.

@DoubleAA Thanks

Does anybody remember how we handled the Israel/diaspora differences for events, the last time we were out of sync? Do y'all really want us to just run both each week for the next month+?

@MonicaCellio You could do a combo event (tag+tag) for each week. That'd be more labor-intensive for you, but would save a line on the sidebar.

@IsaacMoses an event has to have a single URL; do you mean generate search results for the union of the two tags, or am I missing something?

@MonicaCellio Yes, like you (pl) have done before with some holidays, IIRC

@IsaacMoses oh, I didn't realize we'd done that. (The others do a lot of the heavy lifting there.)

7:49 PM
@MonicaCellio Here's what you could use for this week: Parshiyot Tazria-Metzora (Israel) / Parashat Shemini (diaspora) (if it fits in whatever character count restrictions and transliteration conventions apply)

@IsaacMoses thanks! (When I realized that doing it by tag would mean three events this week I initially punted; I hadn't thought of the combined-query approach.) I'll put that up for this week and then try to get the next few weeks filled out before we need them.
@IsaacMoses and done (for this week). Thanks again!

@MonicaCellio Thanks for taking care of that.

@IsaacMoses all I had to do was cut & paste and set the dates. :-)
