Destiny at it's simplest is Halo met with CoD, had a baby and Mass Effect is the godparent with the crazy uncle being an mmo.

Honestly, from what I've played of Halo and CoD (admittedly sparse with regards to CoD), they're are rather similar.

Aesthetics and space opera elements don't count.

I'm just comparing the last Halo (Reach) and the last CoD (MW2) in my mind. Granted, those two aren't the most recent iterations, but I really can't think of noticeably "big" gameplay differences other than more vehicle gameplay and armor abilities in Reach.

And maybe the interplay of ammo type (ballistic vs plasma) and shield/health.

But that's all on Halo. What exactly does CoD bring to the table?
