It's from the mid-late 90's era, PC game, shooter style, either first or third person; I can't remember. It was online multiplayer only, much like unreal tournament only back then there were no bots.

The game had heavy egyptian themes, including but not limited to egyptian style architecture and symbols in its playable arenas, an Ankh item that could be aquired, and a player character (you had to choose your 'champion') that looked exactly like anubis. The game was likely hosted on GameSpy or a simliar client.
