@ErinAnne - I tried to watch one of those Isaac Arthur videos, and had to give up after 5 minutes. The combination of extensive fluff without any physics underpinning it, and the guy's crazy accent just got too annoying. It was easier running it at double speed with no audio, just subtitles, but still annoying. My brain feels dumbed down.

@RoryAlsop I didn't watch the whole thing. I just saw that it seemed to be the same one RocketFan posted but with a timestamp and was like.....uh. what's going on here

Part of me thinks I should withhold judgment, I don't think I even saw the main thrust of the video, but I don't see at all how an interplanetary roadway would be a helpful thing

like, you'd practically have to construct a civilization along it to alleviate the severe speed and distance penalties it would impose, if there's even enough mass in the solar system to make it

oh, it wasn't the same video I guess, because the credits are different. I usually don't watch Youtube videos people recommend. exactly because they'll recommend stuff like this

and I'm just probably not going to watch a half-hour video or longer to try to sort the wheat from the chaff. My default is to disbelieve that somebody on Youtube will make useful points

@RoryAlsop - Sorry for barging in. I had a strange experience. I never listened to music at work, although I saw a lot of people do. Now, there is this guy sitting next to me, who makes horrible eating sounds, and he eats pistachios for hours. So I was forced to start listening to YouTube. And it turned out to be a blessing. I realized how many things I love in my life.
