@PearsonArtPhoto "it's a small world" is more than just a ride at the 1964 World's Fair. Are you going to tell them?

Nah.
It's not a person I ever had much contact with, and I haven't for almost 10 years.

btw I like the plain white backdrop of your current video better than the one in the earlier videos, is that a result of the move as well?

Yes.
I have a room now where I can record. Was one of the positives to moving.
Homes are a bit cheaper in the Huntsville area than in the Washington DC area...

Yes I can imagine that!

I'm likely to add some stuff in the background eventually, but... Haven't got there yet.

2:14 AM
That sounds fun :-)

I have a few thoughts, and some funds set aside from the sale of our last home, with that as the goal.

I have a question, I read the news constantly and have an abstract idea of what life is like in the US now, but no first-hand knowledge.
Are people really all walking around with masks all the time?
Did the Covid-19 situation make moving more difficult?

COVID-19 made a few things about moving challenging, mostly in building any kind of a social network after moving.
Masks, well, it depends on the spot, but the percentage of people wearing them varies quite a bit.

Well as a science-minded person I hope you are wearing one all the time!
The situation in the US was such a preventable disaster...

2:31 AM
I do when in public unless I am exercising in an outdoor area where I expect to see almost no one.
Or if I'm working in an area totally by myself.

ya that sounds about right.

Anytime I'm in a store or at my job or something like that I wear a mask.

It must feel a little weird to move to a new place and then to have to avoid everyone, wow.

Yeah, a bit...
It drives my wife more crazy, but even I'm going a bit stir crazy...

Due to strict rules and a culture that respects authority, they shut it down very quickly here. Masks wearing was 100% for a few months, and still is in buses and trains, but mostly it's over now.
There are still alcohol dispensers for hands everywhere and I use them several times a day out of habit.
You probably can't convince your wife that Stack Exchange is a replacement :-)
oh, I guess you meant the mask-wearing, not the isolation

From the Samy Worm to Wanna Cry, we chat about a decade worth of security snafus.

12 hours later…
4:40 PM
Rats Starship hop attempt #2 aborted as well. (Yesterday at T-0, they got the preburner running but no ignition.
Today a few minutes before abort.

Too bad.

Soon enough... The more issues they work out now the better it will fly for real when it is time :)

Will be nice to see a Starship fly again. It's been over a year I think.

Almost 1 year exactly. Only a 150m hop again is the current goal.
They need flaps/aerilons for 20K flight to control belly flop manuever.
So they need a nose cone, ad there are 4 or 5 of them already built in various forms.

Yeah, hopefully the bigger hop will happen soon!

5:26 PM
Looks like a boat came into the exclusion zone so they had to abort.

Again?
Don't people have better things to do?

5:42 PM
They need more help on the naval side.

Starship is far from needing that kind of support.
Crew Dragon, well, that was kind of embarrassing...
Asked a friend of mine who used to work for the Coast Guard. He told me that far out pretty much they can shoot them, but not ticket them.

5 hours later…
10:25 PM
They may be trying again... 6PM EST they repressurized (You can tell from the shape filling out).
