Neither good nor bad. I know about microcanonical ensembles, canonical ensembles, and grand canonical ensembles. I have two books where I can look up basics, if some termodynamics notion causes me trouble while working through some paper or book chapter about material more directly relevant to me. From time to time I spend some effort to improve my knowledge of termodynamics, but it has not the highest priority for me either.

@vzn Our supervisors had decided on the available themes for this year, and by the way, I found myself I had to choose theoretical nuclear physics and the topic still unknown unless my supervisor informs me.
I still need advice from any experts here!

@Student404Mus Does that mean no Loop quantum gravity, no String Theory Ads conformal field theory, no astrophysics and all that? Your supervisors will give you a list of theoretical nuclear physics topics, and you get to choose one of them?
