I am speculating that discord is partly responsible for taking away a lot of students recently.

The number of answers and questions is about half that in the 2021-2022 academic year than it was in previous years. Why?
Not to mention the lingering affects of the pandemic...
 
@user726941 Maybe this could be even topic suitable for the main MO chatroom. (I guess during the election seasons, MO chatrooms might be more active.)
