this is probably just my lack of google-fu, but what is the RO(C_p)-graded homotopy of morava E-theory at ht p-1?

@EricPeterson how is your work on this going?

why is one of the tags "recreational mathematics"?

i was wondering that also

Because everyone can create tags?
Also, MO in the early years partly filled the niche that was later occupied by math.SE

so, all higher math is "recreational"?

Uh, no?
That the tag exists only means that someone thought it was a suitable tag for their question and no one felt strongly enough about it to do the work to remove it

but this is the tag of a book

4:06 PM
Ah you're talking about Eric's new book. Sorry I misunderstood

np

Well, the tags do seem weird. Logic is no more fitting than Recreational Mathematics after all
And "Categories and Sets" is, I suppose, tangentially related but the book is not really about category theory...

yup
Thanks for the update @EricPeterson :-)

someone at the publishing house filled out the tags. they don't make sense to me either, but if you look at the other books listed under those tags, they all seem equally mislabeled, so at least it's consistent in that regard

hmmm...

4:15 PM
cisinski's higher categories and homotopical algebra, for instance, is probably not what most people would classify as Recreational Mathematics
but at least i'm in good company

:-D
when in November are you expecting it to be available?

the tail of november, i believe. there also seems to be a difference in the rest-of-the-world date and the US date, which might be as late as january

cool

also the pre-refereed PDF gets to live online indefinitely, so it's 99% available online now

right
