so re: discussion a few days ago, theres a simple argument in lurie's notes on k-theory that if M is a connective perfect R-module, then pi_0(M) is a finitely presented pi_0(R)-module. that makes me wonder -- if M is not connective, is it possible that pi_0(M) is not even finitely generated?
what does the bar construction $B_*(X,\Delta, \Delta^\bullet)$ give, where X is a simplicial set and $\Delta^\bullet$ is the standard cosimplicial space? its colimit will give the geometric realization of X, so this should be some sort of "fattening" of it, but I don't know what to say about it

What's a good way to typeset "A-alg" so that the hyphen is not a minus sign?
20:43
$A\text{-alg}$
and if you want to ensure it is set upright, use \textrm instead of \text
Perfect, thanks.

or change your notation to Alg(A)
I actually just switched from that notation.
