what's the easiest way to create 3d visualizations of dem, raster, and vector data? free/open source please, as I'm broke; I've tried NVIZ from GRASS, which works fairly well but is very cumbersome to set eye and surface locations, I can't click to query (distance, elevation, vector data), and I can't set the resolution (though I could likely script this)

i've come across openev, openscenegraph, ossim, but they all seem focused on developers rather than end-users; I'd rather not have to compile anything or write my own application!
