A: What does "teabagger" mean in the politics?

DA.(I'll try and post a less overtly biased and editorialized answer. We'll see how it flies...) The term 'teabagger' is slang (typically used in the pejorative sense) to refer to those that associate themselves with the Tea Party, which is a movement primarily (but not exclusively) associated with...

@AffableGeek when you delete comments, the 'move to chat' option disappears. Can you auto-move things to chat as an admin?

You misunderstood my comment, Tea Party members are mainstream (their demographics match that of the US), the only difference is that they are more likely to be Independents/Republicans (roughly the same percentages, within the sampling error) and conservative and not Democrats. So, it would be more accurate to say that they are primarily unaffiliated with Democrats. Which isn't surprising for a party called Taxed Enough Already when the Dems solutions to fiscal policies is to raise taxes.

@user1873 I don't know how you can debate those numbers. 100% of affiliated Tea Party candidates are republican. 100%. That's all of them. If 100% of something isn't enough evidence to say "that's an association with" then I give up.

@DA., I suppose if "teabagger" was only used in reference to political candidates you might have a point. Since it is used in reference to anyone who wants the government to be more fiscally conservative, my point stands that Tea Party supporters are mostly non-democrat

DA.
@user1873 to quote your own link: "Tea Party supporters are decidedly Republican".

@DA., that is a strange usage of the word decidedly since the poll has a +/- 4% sampling error, the divisions overlap. The true value of Republican is 53%-45% and Independent 47%-39% (with Democrats at 12%-4%). Like I said, unaffiliated with Democrats.

DA.
I assume they're also unaffiliated with the Communist party. But so what? I'm sticking with the numbers.

@DA. - That's because you can't get elected in a Democratic primary if you hold Tea Party views. If there was a viable third party (as opposed to a political joke starting with a capital letter "L"), a large portion of Tea Party types would vote for them.

Sure. No disagreement there. I'd go as far to suggest that if they're going to call them selves the Tea Party perhaps they should formalize into an actual political party.

@DA. - They are not as dumb as Nader and co (in terms of political dumbness). 3rd partis in USA Do Not Work :(

...which is why I assume they've affiliated themselves with the Republican party. (I think we went full circle there)
