@Makyen how/where does one discuss adding new stuff for smokie to try and catch?
in The Sphinx's Lair, 1 hour ago, by bobble
deep sigh will people stop answering these banking questions, for the love of goodness

@AncientSwordRage Most things would be in Charcoal HQ. For some things, it would be better to communicate in a private room.

@Makyen heh, whenever I go to charcoal HQ it looks too busy to disturb, and I'm not exactly sure how to articulate this one

@AncientSwordRage Yeah, it can look a bit busy, but that's mostly SmokeDetector reports or messages forwarded from metasmoke, which are primarily about feedback received. We do have conversations in there, but they tend to be interleaved with the SmokeDetector reports and metasmoke messages.
If you want to focus just on what other people are saying, then it's reasonable to hide all the messages from SmokeDetector and metasmoke. I do that on a regular basis, particularly when catching up from being away, even just being asleep. I do it often enough such that I have a bookmarklet which I click to toggle the visibility of those two users:
javascript:(function(){ showHideForUser(478536, shouldShowUser(478536)); showHideForUser(120914, shouldShowUser(120914));})();
@AncientSwordRage If you want discuss it in here, we could do that.

@Makyen ahhh ok. Does that work on mobile?
@Makyen sure thing
So the issue is that on puzzling they have a rule about posting attribution to puzzles if you didn't make them
It's partly to respect ownership, but also to prevent people cheating on exam questions
People can't get them closed fast enough, so they often get answered, then deleted and that hides all trace of it happening
GTG, but I'll be back later

@AncientSwordRage It should. It uses the "hide posts" capability which is part of chat. I believe I've tested it on mobile.
@AncientSwordRage OK. That's also convenient for me, as it looks like I need to take care of a couple of things in real life for a bit.
