A: Chess Massacre Variants-Play Find The Fastest Way?

Arnaud MortierDoes this beat your rooks file? (24.5 moves) And the Queens (21.5 moves) The Bishops (23 moves) NP pawns (35 moves) YP pawns (33.5 moves) Dark squared Bishops (26.5 moves) (with constraint added that Light squared Bishops can only be captured by a King)

Rooks-Yes, Bishops-Yes, Queens-No, becuase one of the Queens is captured BEFORE all other captures of non-queen pieces are completed.

@RewanDemontay Good spot! Edited, hopefully it's ok now. I've also added NP pawns. If I understand correctly, this NP-pawn variation is also valid as a YP-pawn?

Yes, your queens game is now good. NP is also good. YP is the same as NP, but with pawn promotions allowed.

@RewanDemontay It's surprisingly not easy to do better with promotion than without (here 1.5 moves better).

Hm. Yep. So true. And YP is looking good!

@RewanDemontay I got 1.5 move better for the dark squared bishops. Also I added a constraint compared to your variation: LSBs should only be captured by a King, not another LSB.

Looking good, I doesn’t really matter if LBS are captured by the Kings or each other; DBS can’t get them anyhow. Same thing applies to the LBS variant regarding DBS.
It saves you half a move: apronus.com/chess/pgnviewer/…
