Current mods (@AliceD, @Chris, @WYSIWYG): Just to be sure...should I nominate myself even if I can't guarantee more availability than WYSIWYG? (I'm not sure how far WYSIWYG's involvement has actually dropped, but I'm still concerned I can't be as dedicated as I should for this role...)
If you guys give me the go ahead I'll nominate myself
But I'll ask what is preferred: a relatively inexperienced user who appears to be dedicated to giving lots of time vs an experienced user with much more mod-type activity experience who cannot dedicate as much time?
(in other words, am I a better or more preferred candidate than the current nominees if I cannot guarantee significant time dedication -- at least not more than I give now and even possibly less...)
@theforestecologist would that be less than ~15 minutes a day?
And that doesn't mean 15 a day, every day, every week etc. Just on average.
@Chris see above
@terdon Sometimes none, but other times I might stick around for 20-30 through 3-4 visits.
I pinged Chris for you since they're not pingable in this room.
@theforestecologist Sounds fine to me as an off site mod.

If I had to average, probably 10min/day per week, but it's hard to say. If you look at my rep history, you'll see my involvement here is quite sporadic
weeks will go by where I visit every day many times, and then perhaps a week will go by and I don't really engage the site at all b/c I'm too busy
Things are rarely all that urgent. The thing is, when drama occurs it's nice to have a mod on hand. But you know, this is a voluntary position, you're allowed to have a life.
yeah I guess that would be true, eh? :p
I'm just usually a 1000% effort kind of guy, so it seems weird to throw my hat in the ring knowing full well at the onset that I can't do that :p
Don't get me wrong, it's a valid concern. I just think you're likely overestimating the time required.
But I guess my activity here is still much greater than 35,000 other users :p
got it. I probably am overstimating the time commitment
eh, whatever....I'll just nominate myself
get it over with, ha! :p
@theforestecologist Yay!
Also, you can always step down if you feel you're not up for it. Usually, if that happens soon after an election, the runner up will take your place (assuming you win in the first lace, of course).

I'll let the community decide whether I'm worthy insetad of worrying about it myself
the deed is done!
yay!
@theforestecologist don't forget biology.meta.stackexchange.com/q/3908/1306
working on it now!
17:26
@theforestecologist yes! Go for it
17:55
@terdon done. Go take a look at my questionnaire answers: biology.meta.stackexchange.com/a/3915/16866
> If we cannot come to agreement, I would respectively suggest that community input should be sought
Did you mean respectfully?
most certainly. thanks
Great answers, by the way.
And I mean wildest ;p
thanks, @terdon.

@BryanKrause I was hoping you'd nominate yourself! Glad you did.
