I disagree, it still needs consideration of the fallout that comes after. I agree that it would not be inappropriate not not invite this guy, but to pretend that there would be no repercussions in the workplace would be totally naive, especially given the information we have been given about this person. This answer fails to address any of that which is why IMO it is a bad answer.
