Q: WikiGameKillerFX.java - a JavaFX program for solving the Wiki Game instances

coderodde I have this GitHub repository. In Wiki Game, players agree on random source and target articles, and attempt to navigate from the source to the target using least number of links. If there is a tie, the player how reached the target the earliest wins. Code package com.github.coderodde.wikipedia....

@Mast @SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ @Phroggie is it a bad idea to try to close a HNQ?

@pacmaninbw You can VTC any question. However Harith's answer seems to show the answer has enough content to competently answer so doesn't seem to be hypo/example/stub code

Q: Extract data from poorly formatted phonebook

VesselThe Problem John keeps a backup of his old personal phone book as a text file. On each line of the file he can find the phone number (formated as +X-abc-def-ghij where X stands for one or two digits), the corresponding name between < and > and the address. Unfortunately everything is mixed, thin...

@Phroggie It is a header file, there is no source code for all of the functions. It is an API only. Given the problems Harith found in the header file, there are going to be lots of problems in the source code.

@pacmaninbw "It is a header file, there is no source code for all of the functions." If you can show me a meta which says such a situation is off-topic I'll close the question myself. However I'm probably just going to go about with my day.

@Phroggie I was just providing information. I will rarely ask a moderator to close a question, that should be left to the community if at all possible.

No worries

Q: Simple fool-proof Minecraft installer

404 Name Not FoundI am making a simple, (hopefully) fool-proof Minecraft installer for my friends, some of whom can't comprehend folders and zip files in addition to running a school-provided device, thus lacking certain functionalities (e.g., they can't install Java using the installer and must therefore fiddle a...

@pacmaninbw If it's off-topic, it's off-topic. Regardless of HNQ. There's at least one macro in it though, so this one is a bit of an odd case.
I'm tempted to say that while by the letter of the scope it's definitely in a grey area, there's no point in closing it. Clearly there's enough in it to be reviewable, it's a header file with a lot of context after all.
But the point of closing a question is twofold: allow time to get it fixed before answers arrive (and getting stuck with answer invalidations and all that) and guarding the scope to avoid people trying it anyway.
Roughly.
Very roughly...
I do hope their follow-up question contains actual functions, but I'd be hesitant to mod hammer this question in it's current state. It's not as if the question will be improved when I do.

@Mast Wasn't looking for anyone to hammer it closed. Since it is an HNQ I was wondering what policy was.
How did someone discover that parts of one of the candidates platform was AI generated?

@pacmaninbw Heuristics shouldn't be discussed in public. Mast gave me a bit of an earful the last time such an event happened :)

@pacmaninbw A combined effort, experience and a flag were involved. If you want to know more about AI posts in general because you'd be interested in learning to identify them, please let me know.
Heuristics are not discussed in public, people are even more curious about those than how we find spam and it's much easier to abuse.

Q: Binary tree deepcopy using the Morris traversal in C

I would appreciate it if someone could confirm my implementation: Doesn't create new ...

The upcoming Button Probability Program Code seems off-topic. Not going to hammer, but can people look over the question to verify the topicality of the post.

Q: Button Probability Program Code

HissanI am relatively new to programming. I saw this 'game' online, which had me trying out probability in python. While I know that my code is not at all efficient or well written in anyway, I would still like some help regarding the results I was getting. In this game, you press a button, which incre...
