Q: Elegantly combine list of records into JSON for a Python post request?

xtianI'm parsing a Pandas DataFrame table for an API post request (using requests, of course). I'm working on building my script in Jupyter Notebooks. result = df.to_json(orient="records") parsed_json = json.loads(result) I've seen a lot of JSON manipulations with format(), so my first impulse was to...

Q: Strong typing -> Named type

JHBonariusI'm trying to generate a strong(er) type wrapper for C++. I've seen the NamedType by Jonathan Boccara, but I want a slightly different behavior. Ideally I would be able to use something like using StrongInt = Named<int, "description here">; But due to limitations of C++ a const char* cannot be u...

Otto von BismarckProgram description: I wrote a demo for conditional waiting. The program starts two threads and then waits for both to finish. One of the threads reads user-pressed keys from the keyboard, and if the q key is pressed, sets a condition variable, after that the thread ends. How can I implement the ...

Q: Mini Scheme interpreter

TheSinisterStoneRight now, I'm working on an interpreter for a subset of the Scheme programming language. It supports lambdas, let/let*/letrec, procedures, combinations, definitions, conditionals, do-iteration, and closures. I'm going for a "everything that can be simplified, should be simplified" paradigm to ma...

Q: ISO Xml Serializer for .Net API Controller

BachTheDevI've created a pretty simple XML input formatter, that inherits from XmlSerializerInputFormatter, that is able to serialize XML input that is ISO-8859-1 encoded. I created it, so that I do not have to set AllowSynchronousIO to true. I also created and extension method for easy adding the serializ...

The question is academical. It has nothing to do with reality. Such code would never pass any code review. And the developer would be removed from the team. It is an artificial example, with no real value. Even not for demonstrating some rules. It is only important to start some lengthy discussions here on SO . . . But please continue. — Armin Montigny 37 secs ago

Q: split a string into multiple strings at given delimiter, unless the delimiter is escaped or between quotes, in C

WockyI've had a need to split a line of text into substrings at a given delimiter, but only if the delimiter isn't escaped (eg \,) or between quotes (", ', or `) (very similar to splitting a line from a csv file at the commas.) I've written this, which works but has some issues (mentioned in comments...
