@DerKommissar Computer people as in "people that primarily use a computer to work" or "people that create work for a computer"?

@Zeta But what about people that are computers?
@Morwenn Sounds interesting, I Googled it and it looks about what I expected

7:07 PM
@Peilonrayz There are no such people (yet™), fellow human.

@Zeta Both, to be completely honest.
The people I know who don't use computers for a living in any way are substantially easier to work with.

Related: you can learn a lot of a person by rate limiting their internet speed to a trickle.

We used to use computers at the warehouse, but only to scan things into locations.
Scan a package, put the package in a spot, scan the spot.
There was no "communication" or anything in it
And if the computers didn't work we just moved the stuff around and hand-wrote BOL's

That sounds nice, tbh.

@Zeta there is a similar musing about "cat/dog people"

7:14 PM
@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ There are no such cat/dog people (yet™), fellow bipedal mammal.
Oh, doh. Your avatar is literally a dog. Isn't that Astro from The Jetsons?

@Zeta We moved $10m a day, with or without computers, we would make it happen.

@DerKommissar I used to do something like that a long, long time ago. Got actually threatened with murder by one of my colleagues.
An ex-con on parole, go figure.
Never seen anyone getting fired that fast.

@Zeta how bad of a trickle? Can I still procrastinate while waiting for my code to compile?

@Zeta Then Jim Gaffigan talks about Horse People "And I'm not talking about ....centaurs - they don't exist, anymore..."

7:23 PM
@Vogel612 Hm. Let's say 768kbit/s? Like early DSL?
If you have everything for procrastination installed on your machine it should be fine.

The question is way too broad/opinion based for SO. Asking for review of working code is on-topic for codereview.stackexchange.com/help/how-to-ask. Note that before doing anything you should search for "When I should use ArrayList in C#" as "how to improve code using ArrayList" may be considered an insult by some. — Alexei Levenkov 28 secs ago

Though the "common" picture of furries is more closely associated with canines, is it not?

actually yes. Catgirls aren't really a furry thing but I didn't feel like getting into the nuance.
Catgirls are a cartoon/anime thing and often meant to represent transfemmes

@brug Doesn't that depend on the level of catness in the cat+girl formula?

I mean there are probably catgirl furries...

@Duga Also, jQuery is not a programming language.

@Zeta Also, if you don't understand snippets you've found on the internet, the proper action is to learn what's going on instead of blasting it onto another part of the internet.

Someone should set up a service that takes payments to do code rewrites from all of the randos on SO
You could absolutely make tens of dollars doing peoples homework for them.

@Mast Well, asking questions is part of learning.

@brug Garbage in, garbage out.
@Zeta Constructive questions, sure. This particular one? Eh..

However, don't expect me to put effort in my answer if you didn't put any in your question.

I think I've responded to the general rather than the specific. @brug nah black, I assume it's a rolling stones pun but I've not seen proof of this

@Peilonrayz ohh. I was making a bad joke.

If your code works, this question might be a better fit for Code Review. From codereview.stackexchange.com/help/on-topic: If you have a working piece of code from your project and are looking for open-ended feedback in the following areas... Performance... then you are in the right placedbc just now
You should instead post on codereview I think it suits better your needs. — cglacet 55 secs ago
I’m voting to close this question because, since the code is working properly and OP wants open-ended feedback in the following areas... Performance, it is a better fit on Code Review. — dbc 55 secs ago
@cglacet On Code Review we tend to say "works as intended". It doesn't matter if it compiles or not, all that matters is the code does what you want it to do. This clearly does not output the correct number so it's broken. — Peilonrayz 55 secs ago
If nothing is wrong about a code then why even bother asking for help. The definition you give is very subjective as is depends on what you intend. If I intend to output an integer, this function works perfectly fine. On the other hand you could never ask for improving performances, because as soon as you ask for performances improvements you admit that the code doesn't "work as intended". This is sterile. I was just suggesting that code review questions tends to go to codereview instead of here. — cglacet just now
@cglacet It's not subjective, if you have a problem with Code Review's rules then please voice this on Meta. The question as is will only get closed on Code Review. — Peilonrayz 49 secs ago
But this should be closed on stackoverflow too, so instead of arguing about why this shouldn't belong to codereview give the OP a place to ask for help … — cglacet 39 secs ago

Q: Enhanced Hashmap - Add a number to all keys/values

PraveenI had the below problem in a coding test and I got 28/30 tests passes and 2 failed due to a time-out. Problem You have created a programming language and now you have decided to add hashmap support to it. It was found that in common programming languages, it is impossible to add a number to all ...

@DerKommissar Could you rephrase that?
Oh, I think I get it now. There's no max int in Python, use float('inf')

If I want the max value of an int
Gotcha

You probably would be better of using min or max however. Or some other function that works.

Yeah, Python integers are infinite, they grow as needed
@Peilonrayz Glitchy stuff was common around 2012 when vaporwave became famous :)
As for eating flowers I can't say that I did that a lot either, but I was confined at home and had time to learn a few things about my garden

I didn't really get into vaporwave, however the art that's coming up just makes me think of Kung Fury...

Looks really nice. Is getopt stdlib? You may be interested in classmethod rather than staticmethod.

Yeah it's stdlib
What's the difference in those two?

I also noticed how easy it is to get rid of the two background colour prints in print_table you can just change item[c] to f'{item[c]:<{minsize + 1}}' 🤦
Oh, nice. I've never seen it before. classmethod make the method take the class as the first argument, rather than an instance with a normal method or nothing with static method.

Tab byte-size is smaller
Looks the same, completely different back-end
