Assuming this is all in $( document ).ready() this looks good. The code is nice and clean, well formatted (although I would remove the space at the end of each function, and also bring that last bracket back to the in line with the top one). Good job on format, but yes, this isn't a question for stackoverflow. I didn't know the codereview section of stackexchange existed. I'll have to check that out. But this code is nice and clean. As far as if it is best, leave that for codereview. — adpro 37 secs ago
I know this is not codereview, but perhaps you should start by changing the use of Tuple to using a custom class that is more descriptive. When you look at the view you have no clue what item1/2/3/... actually means. This at least makes your code more readable and makes it ieasier for us to identify your problem. — Peter 38 secs ago

Yup.
That bounty is odd.
> Looking for an answer drawing from credible and/or official sources.

There is a solution with a combination of binary search. However here we are looking for a hash map/hashset based solution which can handle duplicate. At the same time there needs to be a proof to validate why the solution will work in varying conditions.
Looks like their main problem is the current code doesn't catch certain edge cases, which is worse.

@200_success I'd think that'd be the same for 10k+ users too. You shouldn't delete someone's answer, unless it's very poor, and not constructive.

If one troll accepts another troll's answer, you'd rather trust the moderators to nuke it all, right?

Definitely.

Yeah, that's correct. I guess I need to read up on deleting. I don't like doing it, so didn't look into it much

@200_success with fire, brimstone, and plasma bombs, no less. ;)

@200_success And revert the rep.
If there's a way to do it without the rep reversion, that is.

6:18 PM
The reputations are going to get recalculated when posts are deleted. That's why we try not to delete stuff. I also try to catch garbage as early as possible, and delete it before it gets upvoted, so as to avoid that quandary.

60 days old posts do not lose the rep they generated, though. Right?

Will there be a course for new moderators to improve delegation of knowledge?

@Peilonrayz I only like doing it on things that are real garbage. I avoid deleting things that I believe doesn't need to be deleted.
@Vogel612 Can't remember the exact time period, but yes, there is such functionality.

30 or 60 probably.

60 or 90 I think

6:27 PM
@SimonForsberg We've had a couple of trolls come on CR. And so I could only see using it on them if I were to be elected. Most other things I wouldn't feel ok deleting.

@Mast The new moderators can read the transcript of The 1st Monitor and read the suggestions @MathieuGuindon and I got when we were elected.

@SimonForsberg oh $#!t, they can read the transcript!
</jk>

@MathieuGuindon no use deleting it either :D

@Peilonrayz Depends on what you mean by "trolls", but yes, the worst ones are users that posts garbage like sfdjdfksdffsdjklfögjfdklgfdjlkdgfsöfsjdk ösdflkjdsf jsdklö jfdslköd jsdf as an answer

@SimonForsberg doesn't stuff like that get caught pretty quickly by the Charcoal crew?

6:29 PM
@MathieuGuindon Delete all your secrets now before it's too late ;)

@SimonForsberg one of the best perks of moderatorship, is the ability to see-through deleted chat posts... I'll definitely miss that.

@Vogel612 Don't know, don't visit that much. But it's often auto-flagged by the Community user for Low Quality Score.

that, and the ability to write-authorize a noob new potential RD contributor into chat

@MathieuGuindon one of the best perks of moderatorship, is the ability to purge the history of deleted chat posts

@SamOnela thanks for the heads up, but I don't see excessive No Action Needed votes by that user to warrant our intervention at this point

6:31 PM
@SimonForsberg I think half a year back we'd get people posting sense - not "toehuaotehuaetuhaste". But was just like "Do I have a small penis" with their mates posting answers

@janos okay

@Peilonrayz Such things are often flagged quickly and removed.

oyy... why is oneboxing images in replies bork?

Also a bit out of date, but most things won't have changed.

also @MathieuGuindon are you trying to hide your mug-ness by pretending to be human?
good luck

@Vogel612 refresh - took a while for me to purge the history after deleting

@SimonForsberg I was just clarifying what I meant by troll :)

6:34 PM
@Riker Now you know what we do in The 1st Monitor all days long.

@Peilonrayz ah, right :)

@Vogel612 because replies to deleted messages are just text 😒 ugh

@Riker trying :)

it's kinda hard hiding your lizardness when you're that popular
@MathieuGuindon you underestimate my speakers

I should have an amp lying around here somewhere

my headphones are louder than my actual laptop speakers lol just tested

Did you account for the 1/r^2 drop in intensity?

no, but I did account for the fact I now probably have hearing loss and somebody just shouted keep it down
with my headphones turned to max volume and connected to youtube

> In an ideal world, you tell us what your code does, present your code to reviewers - starting with the title: try to summarize the purpose of the code in the title, rather than duplicating information already carried by the language tag and the mere fact that you're posting on this site (everybody wants cleaner code). Sufficient context makes your post easier on reviewers, which are often going to be spending well over an hour on it.
> If your post boils down to "here's my code, figure it out & improve it!", it's not necessarily off-topic, but won't necessarily be well-received either.
protip @FutureMods: when commenting on questions with a poor initial reception, try to ignore existing comments.
if I had just left that one alone, it might still be around

my comment was originally phrased as a response to "why do you need a context if it clear that the function is too long?"

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it asks for code review and as such is better asked on codereview.stackexchange.commustaccio 17 secs ago

@MathieuGuindon It was a perfectly good comment.
And better phrased than I'd have put it.

meh. I had read the other comments first, and my mind wasn't in a good place when I first posted it - sure OP didn't get a good vibe from it.
the final, edited comment is fine, but I'm not sure OP got to read it before they went "F it"

@SimonForsberg too much spam recently?

@Vogel612 I just meant "Asks how to dynamic programming" doesn't make sense grammatically

I had working code which I didn't understand, then I refactored it and got code which I understand but doesn't work

@MathieuGuindon you ever work with SilkTest?

nope

I wonder if Rubberduck will run inside this IDE....
I may have to look into that tomorrow when I get to work

if it's not a VBE, it probably won't..
actually, let me know if it does

7:55 PM
is VBE strictly Excel?

no. VBE is strictly VBA scripting
not VB.NET scripting

Yes, you want something that Windows Batch does not support. You can't "cycle through ASCII codes" without using undocumented and potentially unsupported/non-portable workarounds or jumping out of that environment into another language, all of which are at least one order of magnitude slower and tend to require extra attention on the part of any code reviewers attempting to ascertain what it is the code is doing. — jwdonahue 14 secs ago

@zack raiyan It's good that you pointed out about the way he passes the parameters, but it is not really relevant to the answer, so I skipped it. It's more of a code review if anything.
