you should be able to but remember to edit out personal info. You have two minutes in which to delete anything in chat that you don't want left as a permanent record. Take a moment to hover to the right of your icon for your last message and see how the drop down button appears with the various chat options.

So that is not just the element (and I can't see the element bit I was expecting which should say something like placeholder text "Search"

your code works so therefore my line should also work.

the error message doesn't make sense in that content.
