@darijgrinberg Undeleted. I was reading that post. It seems to me that "positive semidefinite" is a concept defined for symmetric (Hermitian in the complex case) matrices: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definiteness_of_a_matrix Do you think it better to edit the post further?

... Ah, it could be for any matrices if one considers bilinear forms according to that Wiki page. So no problem. Please ignore my previous comment.
@Jack: This is one of those cases where there are two conflicting terminologies but pretty much everyone believes the one they've learned is the only one around.
