Branding design choices are not consensus rules, but I think a strong design will still reflect the nature of the network. Perhaps fitting then, that we see a widely adopted standard (ie the right-tilted B, a certain orange colour, etc), but with small variations here and there-- that seems reminiscent of the collective users' understanding of bitcoin. While each has their own idea of it, they all converge on a common ground.
