I'd guess that Mariano hinted at this in his meta post, but it was never clearly stated before the election that there are actually two spots to fill.

@user170039 I think it's fine to have asked here too. After all, we're less than a day post election, and it's a legitimate question with respect to previous close or delete votes the two newly elected moderators had previously made, to better understand what those votes mean now that they are mods.
