Hello, @AloizioMacedo !

I've answered the questions as well, and made the nomination official.
@amWhy Hello!
Anyone, feel free to ask questions which were not answered in the official meta post.

Who has this picture on his site?

10:58 AM
Hello all, I'm wondering ... should I run?

2 hours later…
1:06 PM
@Nick Anyone with the requisite reputation may run. Only you can decide if you should.

2:31 PM
I have the least score/rep in everything wrt the other candidates. Yet, I am still able to contest. So, I will give it a try.

There isn't much to lose and if I do win, I'd have a spectacular job to do in my free time and maybe brag about to my girlfriend, who does not yet exist... but she might... if I'm elected mod.

Dude, I really want to be mod.

3:31 PM
@Nick You mention two reasons that explain why you state "Dude, I really want to be a mod." Who are you addressing when you use "Dude"? Both reasons are rather centered on how you might benefit if you were elected as a moderator. I'm primarily interested in moderators who focus less on themselves, and more on how being elected will be an asset to the community.

Expected that. Yeah, my umwelt is self-centric at times. The community, it's health and glory, that's what moderation is for, yeah. To be an asset to a populous might not be a very simple feat, but effort in this endevour is something that I think neither community nor myself will regret.

Not gonna lie, @Nick, it might not even be a good idea from a self-centered standpoint. The crowds of women who want to be your girlfriend when they find out you've been elected mod can be overwhelming. Not to mention the harassment you get from the paparazzi.

@AlexanderGruber Maybe I should run. I certainly won't be distracted by any crowd of women who want to be my girlfriend when they find out I've been elected mod. :P

3:47 PM
I shall avert my eyes when the women arrive and as for the pap... I guess answer their questions honestly and directly (as long as they don't hound me on things I have no idea about) :P

@amwhy @nick These are both good answers. Should have put this in the mod questionnaire

Speaking of the moderator questionnaire: I'd like to see your answers to the eleven questions, @nick.

4:18 PM
@Nick Running is bad for your knees.
@quid: Can I nominate you to run again?
3
You could have two diamonds.

@AsafKaragila Then @quid would have to pull "double-duty"! I'd stick with one star! :P

@AsafKaragila quid already has two diamonds.
Ima have to run next MESE election just to stay competitive

4:53 PM
@Asaf of course you can. ;-)
@AsafKaragila like Anton in the old days over at MO?

5:08 PM
@amWhy maybe I could negotiate that SE triples my salary as compensation? :-)
(Given that it wouldn't change a thing for them, they ought to agree.)

5:19 PM
@quid Go for it!! :)

why is there a separate primary and final voting phase? Even if we end up with more than 10 candidates somehow, that seems unnecessarily convoluted. Why not just have a straight vote between all candidate?

9:38 PM
@quid After all, SE pays me ten times what you're paid!
(For the record, for those who don't already know, users are paid nothing, and mods are paid nothing.)
@user7530 That's what the primary would be for: a straight vote between all candidates, to select those candidates with a viable chance at being elected as a mod. The primary will then select a healthy number of candidates for a final election. Say there are 16 candidates (that's a stretch, but let's suppose that's the case). Suppose the primary selects the top eight. Suppose you cast your first, second, and third vote for candidates ranked 14, 15, 16 in the primary results?
Well, given the narrowed feel, your votes have not been lost, as they would have been in the case of 16 candidates for the final determination. You'd still have a chance to determine, out of the eight primary winners, to case a first, second, and third vote.
However, I'm sure, @user7530, @GraceNote can better explain the logic to this than I did.

9:55 PM
It's just a simple process to reduce the number of candidates for the actual vote. It's set to cut past the top 10, which is standard for the network, so that you only need to pick your top 3 choices out of 10, not out of however many past that (tops at 30 candidates).

@GraceNote Thanks for the answer to @user7530. Of course, your answer is far more concise (and accurate) than mine was.
