@curiousguy a computer doesn't have to have your "most important trade secret" to have access to intellectual property, financial data, customer data, etc. Should software developers have no Internet access when working on source code (SO would lose a large part of it's community). Should Sales need to have two computers, one to access customer info and one to communicate with those customers?

I can provide more examples, but again, it seems like you are being deliberately obtuse; ignoring the point specifically to make comments that don't reflect the realities of business in today's world and don't add to the discussion at all. I don't expect these types of comments from you.

@YLearn "Sales" can have a very restricted view of the database, limited to their own client.

And "sales" doesn't need to have access to banking information.

I just don't trust anything but strict isolation of networks, computers, tools.
