customers obviously still mad.
@AndrasDeak You think that Mr. Rodriguez did even post a "I am sorry" reply? Nope. Do you think he had at least the decency to stay silent? Nope.
He had to post this very deep message right now.

9:26 AM
@SPArcheon very relevant, I can see
the Hungarian version in that map isn't even very accurate :P

@AndrasDeak If one has to be malicious... the message seems to be oddly framed to be a reply to the above messages...
But I am just a poor pony, I don't know malice... so that is totally not what I think right now....

I'm just a poor pony from a poor family

Q: Did anyone other than Luna take responsibility for "Dream Duty"?

SPArcheonS3E6 episode "Sleepless in Ponyville" introduces a new task that Luna is doing other than simply raising the moon at night. Scootaloo: You are so, so much better than The Headless Horse. But what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in Canterlot? Princess Luna: I am the princess of the night. Th...

How many more to go?

@AndrasDeak still 14, this one is old
@b_jonas I was thinking.
> But as time went on, the younger sister became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night.
Then in Luna Eclipsed no one knows her, and the whole episode is she trying to get "noticed"
Should this mean she started the "Dream patrol" only later and more importantly never did in the past?

ah, I missed the date

@b_jonas I mean... suppose she did the same a thousand year ago. Considering her personality... wouldn't she be quite happy with just the fillies realizing that someone was helping them in their dreams?
Basically, had she visited dreams before the incident, shouldn't that have got her known enough to never feel forgotten in the first place?
I would say it is safe to assume the idea came to her sometime after Luna Eclipsed, even if there is no direct confirmation.

11:10 AM
I don't know, but I expect that Princess Luna already patrolled dreams a thousand years ago. Think about S6 E8 where she stops Snowfall Frost. I think that story is from before the first season.

@b_jonas She is playing a part there.
> Princess Luna: I am the Spirit of Hearth's Warming Yet to Come.
there is no reason to assume she wasn't telling the truth. It is Twilight retelling of a story and she is using her friends as the character.

@SPArcheon Yes, and in S2 she's playing the role of Nightmare Night for a holiday tradition.
@SPArcheon A story where there's an alicorn suspiciously like Princess Luna who intervenes at ponies who are desperate and try something stupid, like cutting the key stitches in a headdress.
Those stories got written because Luna was there, a thousand years ago.
It might not be an entirely truthful story, but it wouldn't just invent Luna out of thin air.
Admittedly the spirit of hearthwarming past probably wasn't really Applejack.

@b_jonas it is different. In "A Hearth's Warming Tail" you see Twilight narrating a story (and we don't even know if it is a story or an actual legend. I mean, that is Christmas Charol - and in our world it is just a book. It is the same there?)
Everyone was played by someone else in that story.
The three spirit just happened to be played by AJ, Pinkie and Luna.
same concept at play in the other Hearth's Warming episode.
and then, seasons later...

Yes, because Dickens wrote the story to fit Luna, who does that kind of thing. And maybe also around Pinkie, though it's hard to imagine how she's there long past when we saw her as a fillie and we know from S5 E11 that her parents are married less than fifty years ago. But Pinkie can probably time travel.

Pudding wasn't even female in the first place.
At the time people even thought (including me) that the fact that Clover was Twilight was because she would cause some time paradox in the future, and she wore a cloak so that other won't notice she was an alicorn and not an unicorn.
instead.... those are the original versions.

11:22 AM
@SPArcheon Wow.

@SPArcheon One of those look oddly familiar, similar to a modern day pony, but who exactly?

They're definitely all wearing old style clothing.

Anyway, back to topic, if you assume that Snow Frost really happened and that was really Luna, then who are the other two spirits?

11:26 AM
@SPArcheon No, I don't think that Snow Frost really happened. It's a story in a book. But it's written that way because the writer and readers know about Luna doing things like that.

Either you admit that there are a past and present spirits but no future one, so Luna played the part... or Luna created all three?
@b_jonas Oh, I get it now, you say that someone dedicated a book to her basically.
But in that case... isn't it counterintuitive that a princess famous enough to get in a book felt like no one recognized her contributions and no one loved her?

@SPArcheon Yes, and perhaps to real life grumpy no-fun ponies who inspired Snowfall and Snape.

Because remember: the reason she become Nightmare Moon is no jealousy for the day. It is feeling alone - and that Luna Eclipsed clearly showns.

@SPArcheon Is it really? I don't think it's contradictory. And that's kind of what Twilight felt like in S4 E25 too.
Twilight just didn't go so mad over it.

11:52 AM
@b_jonas In Twilight case it seems more of a felling of being not good enough - basically what she always do every time.
For Luna it looked more like "no one even realizes I exist"
> Princess Luna: Did you really expect me to sit idly by while they all basked in your precious light?
Twilight Sparkle: Precious light?
Princess Luna: There can only be one princess in Equestria! And that princess... will be me!
the flashback.
anyway, IF you consider FIENDship is Magic Issue 4 canon material, then she learned to enter dreams while banished on the moon.
yet, the Friendship is Magic Issue #5 - Nightmare Rarity arc - says something different, claiming that Nightmare Moon already had the power to influence dreams and used that to take control of Luna (yep, in this case Nightmare Moon is a separate entity)
anyway, oddly both versions have the power over dreams coming from Nightmare Moon and then being inherited by Luna.

12:51 PM
Heh
So Luna gained a power from turning into a monster. I guess that can make sense.

In the Fiendship version, she became Nightmare Moon, was sent to the moon, meet a race that was already responsible for protecting dreams, tricked them into teaching their skill to her (she was still Nightmare Moon), tried to use the nightmares to haunt Celestia, failed, forgot about it.
Therefore in this version she learned the skill as Nightmare Moon and then she remembered it after being restored. Then she starting using the technique for its original purpose. This version is more coherent to the other book - the Journal, which does not mention anything about dream traveling when they first became princesses
the other versions assume that Nightmare Moon is a separate parasite entity that somehow took control of Luna and later tried the same with Rarity. In this version Nightmare Moon is said to come from the moon in the first place and already had the ability to haunt dreams.

@AndrasDeak Intriguing. For a long time an urban legend claimed that when publishing the original freeware Cave Story game made by Pixel, Nicalis managed to scam him into selling them the rights to the IP.
It was never proved (yet neither disproven).
Now I have just discovered that last year around December Nicalis sent a DMCA notice to a fan group that was making a modification..... of the original freeware game
on what ground were they able to do that if they never worked on the original version but only on the remade ports?

1 hour later…
3:47 PM
@SPArcheon Makes sense. A standalone nightmare entity haunting ponies could lead to…

later reused for Day Breaker

Plus you know how the Tantabus got created from the fears of Luna but then had some independent existence when it tried to get away and invade the waking world.

3 hours later…
6:23 PM
@b_jonas For what matters, the Nightmare creatures from the Nightmare Rarity story do look like smoke.
problem is they are far more similar to the Umbrum from the Sombra's redemption story arc than the Tantabus
also, it is required by royal decree that I now post Radiant Hope since I mentioned that story.
also...
took Inuyasha "only" 193 episode to reassemble a sphere about the size of a watermelon...
Rebuild an alicorn statue...
See you in about 30 years Sombra.

6:47 PM
@SPArcheon If that's in the comics then why do some people doubt that the Storm King can be reassembled and revived?

7:07 PM
Because
a) the story never shows if they were successful. That panel is taken from the ending, right before Sombra goes on a journey with Hope
b) I would say that probably Hope was the only one that could manage that in the first place.
And... I still suggest you try to read that story. It is the best one in the comic

@SPArcheon there's also a chance that they were just trolling (successfully), from what I can tell the DMCA system is a mess

7:43 PM
@SPArcheon Of course they might not be successful. It would require extraordinary circumstances, such as you'd only find in a story. Somehow finding out the location of all the scattered pieces, and finding them all intact, like the Main Six found the six pillar artifacts. Getting someone with healing magic, perhaps a fountain that cries healing tears.
It might not happen. If there's no good story to be told about the Storm King, or no budget to animate another film that looks as spectacular, then the Storm King will lie forever broken.
