It even makes an appearance in some games (the Jump Superstar series mostly)

Those are regarded as the pillars of the Shonen manga genre

in a way, those fits MLP too.

So, yep, you could say that in a way MLP is a Shonen-style cartoon.

anyway, nothing can even hope to get close to the magnificence of the Konata version of Cha-la Head that they thrown in during one of the Lucky Star ending credits.
