@AndrasDeak the clip I linked just above. Some users are making rom hacks or even entire fan games to have the Movie Design Sonic into the original games
Hence my joke that maybe Sonic was always drawn that way and we are just misremembering another version that never existed :P
@AndrasDeak yep, someone noticed something that was... deliberately done that way.
Remember: as far as I know, originally question upvotes already did award 10 points. It was changed afterward. Now they are reverting the change.
Note: I am not expressing any opinion here whether this is bad or good. Just pointing out that there was noting to "notice" since that disparity was a known choice, not a random bug.

@Derpy I still say that they're just continuing the existing MLP:FiM series, they don't want to end it as long as it sells. Only now instead of Equestria Girls walking on two legs, it's badly drawn Pony Life with tiny bodies and large heads.

so, if you take the ponies as the same characters from FIM this should be placed at an unspecified time before the show end.
@b_jonas you are kinda right there, some of those bases are quite random.
One of the Rarity versions even has a pile of books as a base, while Twily gets a cake.
The fact that sometime the same figure is available with multiple, randomly selected bases only helps the confusion

Twily iris is still purple.

The toy... is pretty bad and almost seem like the whole eye is blue.
that said, it seems like the new look is somehow based on some very specific artists.
