@Nach0z Nice! The monster is alive!
@Nach0z You're not the only one that done that! Uhmm, me, me, me! (soldering error...)

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Good point, I'll add some examples on the Z-banding topic. But as far as the question, a diagnosis is asked, not the solution. ;)
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Most probably the coupling is the issue, thanks for fleshing out the answer! Much appreciated!

@0scar I still have a long row to hoe on this thing, today I'm gonna try and get the 24V PSU wired in and see if I can get actual movement while homing. If all that goes to plan I'll be able to actually start getting things installed and wired up in their final configuration.

@Nach0z I bet you'll notify us of your progress! :)
Hope you get it running soon, those cubes are wonderful printers!

oh ja. y'all are a captive audience pretty much.

@0scar - I've always taken the approach to answering question out to a conclusion. Remember, the OP isn't your only audience. The whole idea of Stack Exchange is to bring information here and keep it for posterity. If you answer the unasked, but implied question, you will most likely help someone else out in the future who needs your help. Don't be stingy ... ;-)

@0scar That question is btw part of why I started the Cantilever design tradeoff question
self-nominate or candidate would be the terms. not delegate - delegate is from delegere: to order.
@Greenonline candidare is from Candidus (white) over candidatus (white robed one); nominate from nominare (to name)7
@Nach0z easy test: put some voltage in and measure the output with nothing in the sensor. Is it giving a HIGH or a LOW? Low=Normally Open, High: Normally Closed.

@trish I don't have a multimeter immediately handy, I took mine home yesterday and left it there, much to my own chagrin.
I'm gonna hook up the motors to the 24V PSU today and see if I don't get the expected behavior when I manually trigger the endstops. Obviously this means I have to unhook the belts... or maybe I'll just use a different set of motors temporarily

@Trish Excellent, I love a bit of latin! :-) But to name oneself would be "nominare se" or "auto nominare", or something along those lines. Man, my head is already starting to hurt! LOL.
@Nach0z So long as it was not blatantly taking the p---, then it should be ok. I dunno, is it worth wasting your time filling in all the forms and writing the blerb, if you're not really bothered..? Also, don't forget, the whole world can see it, not just us muppets in here, so maybe don't write anything daft else people might get the wrong impression.

6:11 PM
@Greenonline blatant shenanigans was pretty much exactly what I was going for. I was gonna fill out the form in verse as Gaston from the original Beauty & The Beast. No-one mods like Gaston, no-one's right like Gaston...
I'll probably let it alone though, and just leave y'all with that mental image :)

yanno come to think of it, I haven't even considered the inductive probe I bought for mesh levelling and whatnot
I gotta get that thing wired up and make sure it works

Any of y'all used Capricorn bowden tubing? I'm seeing a bunch of people that swear by this stuff, and a few negative reviews saying the ID was actually too small for whatever they were doing.

woo
burned out stepper drivers
I knew I should have just bought new ones
at least the Z axis is working for the most part. Verified all my endstops are wired correctly and that the corexy motion seems to be moving in the correct directions.
no idea if my inductive probe is working yet, literally don't even have a way to test it to my knowledge, but I'm happy with the endstops working
