Does someone want to take a look at the Z-axis tag..? I edited it an hour ago to add info for deltas, but the bit about the Y-axis (which was already there), w.r.t. to the moveable bed printers (I think) just sounds wrong, or is badly worded, IMHO.

GM Makers!

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 why GM and not Ford or BMW? :-)

1:00 PM
@DanHulme I prefer GM, so GM it is! :o)

@Greenonline Reading about user deletion, I have my conclusion: the way it is implemented stinks. Only when fraud is in play it is a good thing to do, but doing so without leaving a message on meta just stinks
Very disappointing, also the answers of the mods are not convincing despite some good ideas and feedback from the community! Missed opportunity

@0scar Just re-read this... Oh really, did your flag get declined? That's very interesting to know. I will bear that in mind in future, I didn't know that, I assumed it would still be marked as useful. My apologies mate.
@0scar Yeah, it's a bit annoying but at least it's not real money... :-) I've already made most of the lost rep up again anyway.

what's going on with the rep and stuff? I saw something about some user that upvoted tons of stuff getting deleted

@Nach0z Hi there, and welcome to chat. That was a very nice first answer, I must congratulate you again :-)
@Nach0z If a user deletes themselves, then all of their votes are lost - unless they are a high rep or something, I'm not sure of the threshold.

thanks mate. that's one of those oddly specific questions that I have tons of personal experience with
... so if said user didn't actively contribute much aside from voting early and voting often, then tons of people lose a bunch of rep?

@Nach0z Yeah, it's good when one of those comes up... then we get a real answer as Trish said, instead of speculation and googling in the background

Trish is also doing a good job of reminding me there's stuff I don't know, I was fully convinced Prusa printers shipped with buildtak on them but apparently it's powder-coated now? TIL.

@Nach0z Yeah, something like that :-) I think that their posts still hang about though. Not sure. Best if you check on SE.Meta for that info. I thought Prusa used a PEI film or something, they did a couple of years ago.

.... well that didn't work. @Greenonline, so there's been drama around the whole reputation being lost then? It looks like the people answering on SE.meta are being somewhat evasive?
yeah she said they're either PEI or powder-coat depending on the age. I swear the surface looked visually identical to the stickers that I've seen on basically every printer in the office over here though. Learning experience it is.

@Nach0z I think that the system has been like that for years and they are generally reluctant to change the back-end.
@Nach0z Ah. I've not seen a new Prusa close up yet.
Interesting to know though :-)
OK, I have to go and eat some dinner now. It's late here. Catch you another time. I'm here most days. :-)

@Greenonline yeah I haven't seen any prusa in-person to be honest, we've had like five i3 clones come through the office including my own wood-frame frankenstrosity, but never the real deal. Too expensive for my blood. Got a couple Monoprice though.
gotcha, take it easy mate
