@GraceNote This community has a track record of being silent on meta and chat (as JonW pointed out in an election question). What would happen if we encounter the very possible situation where we have no candidates come forward? Would we simply not have an election?

@maxathousand We extend the election by one week first, and if insufficient candidates show up in the extra week, we cancel the election and try to figure out how we might get candidates.

@GraceNote has this ever happened before (i.e. insufficient candidates nominate)? I always seem to see people nominate themselves even if it is to get people with higher standings than they are to put themselves forward.

@maxathousand I don't know how successful we have been at 'doing UX on UXSE' but perhaps we need candidates that are willing to make some decisions to change the culture? I know that many people I introduce to UXSE feel like the barrier to entry is too high. Maybe chat is actually the place to start for them. Meta is a bit tricky thouh...
