Wow. An entire supercomputer just for self-driving cars.
Completely unrelated, but keccak.team has remarkably good documentation.
Although I do kind of wonder why it was used instead of Gimli. They're both pretty similar in terms of performance and security properties.

@forest well Google/Amazon/Microsoft can use and they have already used their cloud business machines for training the AI. I'll not surprised to see that we will see more in the future. It is highly costly for Tesla to use AWS.

Could imagine that a more purpose build machine is much faster than a general purpose cloud computing base though.

@forest Keccak predated Gimli by about a decade. It would have been quite a feat for NIST to have chosen Gimli years before its creation.

@forest this is more interesting though Google is training AI to design the next generation of chips

My little heuristic about titles that start with a lowercase for not-so-good questions is holding up great. Very helpful, I can immediately see which ones to pay attention to.

@SqueamishOssifrage Maybe NIST needs to work on building a time machine.

@kelalaka I don't think that's very interesting. It makes sense that they'd use AI for at least some of their design process. Isn't that kind of thing already done regularly in ASIC design? I'm sure bdegnan would know.
