@kelalaka I don't like undeleting questions against the will of the user. Why not create a self answered Q/A?
I'd like the decimal case covered.
Just create a comment below the question to indicate that this was asked before but got deleted if you feel uncomfortable "asking" the question.
(BTW, surprisingly, I could not find an easy dupe)

I wonder why this question hasn't become HNQ crypto.stackexchange.com/q/89489/18298
@MaartenBodewes It's fine. If it was a new finding, I would like to ask and self answer.

@kelalaka I promised to look for a copy of a paper a while back. I do have a (terrible) copy of it now. Do you have a way for me to send it to you?

Q: Why is the crypto primitives market practically non-commercialized?

TomThere are not many successful companies in cryptographic primitives market. Certicom holds many patents attached to the ECC. RSA Security probably made some profits from the patent. Are there more examples? Why do people, scientists not try to commercialize their achievements, despite the fact th...

Q: Use slow hashing to reduce digest size?

JacopoStanchiI have seen this question on MD5 replacement for 128 bit digests. It is said numerous times that having a 128 bit digest is impossible today because finding a collision would only require $2^{64}$ operations, which is in the means of big organisations nowadays. However, I think that these answers...

Q: Period finding for Quantum Computers

MarcShor's algorithm shows how a quantum computer (with sufficiently many qubits) can solve the factorization problem efficiently. Also the discrete logarithm problem can be solved efficiently with such a quantum computer. Both boil down into finding the period of a certain function. Can quantum comp...
