Everytime I read "let the OS take care of it" it makes me cringe. :/
 
@bdegnan there are some situations where there's no better way
unless your threat model is really weird
 
The only people that I trust less than the people who wrote the OS are the people that made the hardware. Recently, I've been looking at RNG implementations in hardware and they are not nearly as good as one would expect, generally by trying to hit power numbers. :/
