Are blatant falsehoods common in cryptographic texts?
 
My guess was that OP restarted the question incorrectly. But they are already the second person to do so. Which may hint at there being a textbook out there with a blatantly inncorrect exercise.
Not that terrible crypto textbooks are unheard of.
This chat and spotty mobile internet don't go well together.

I just mentioned the printable ASCII thing because it's explicitly stated in the rules.
"A brief piece of printable ASCII text (containing byte values in hexadecimal notation from 0x20 to 0x7e)"
