@forest For some reason I had thought it would be difficult to determine which addresses conflict with each other for the purpose of exploiting cache timing. It didn't occur to it might just be a simple static mapping or worse textbook mod a power of two.
I wonder what permuting block indexing in a function would change, as in block[P(i)] instead of block[i], and if it could be used like a type of blinding. It feels like the answer is probably that it makes the job harder but not impossible.
