@All @all, who here gets paid to do crypto?
3 hours later…
fgrieu

@back_seat_driver I get paid to do engineering work (and management of that) in a field that uses crypto (Smart Cards).

Hey @SEJPM
Evinda
3:29 PM
I have written a program but I get wrong values of $f+hq$. Can I show it to show? Maybe you have an idea where my error is. @SEJPM

@e-sushi You are waiting for Monday? :P

@Evinda Well, you can show me, but I can't guarantee that I will actually be useful
@Evinda usually a simple ring tends to be the best choice (something like the polynomials over Z_2)
Evinda
@SEJPM I thought to pick the ring Z_p

@back_seat_driver as well as fgrieu, also maarten, yehuda, curves, biv, thomas pornin, maybe mikeazo, poncho, samuel neves,....

We don't get that f+h*q remains unaltered. Have I done a mistake with the indices of f, h and q? @SEJPM
SEJPM
from the people usually
sometimes here in the chat
, only @Biv and fgrieu (and maybe @e-sushi sometimes?)
@Evinda I'm not sure, do you actually implement the addition and the multiplication as polynomial arithmetic?
Evinda

I think that the operations are correct. I think the error is here:
printf("f[%d]+h[%d]*q[%d]=%d \n",j,j-(i-d2),i-d2,f[j]+h[j-(i-d2)]*q[i-d2] );
@SEJPM
Is there maybe an error at the indices? @SEJPM
SEJPM
@SqueamishOssifrage you wanna chime in? :p
Squeamish Ossifrage
8:16 PM
@SEJPM Hi! What's the problem? What are you trying to do? What did you input, what did you see as output, and what did you expect to see as output?
Evinda
Hello @SqueamishOssifrage
We have the following:
https://i.stack.imgur.com/cnc2G.jpg
https://i.stack.imgur.com/22z6m.jpg
I tried to implement the algorithm in C in order to show that f+hq remains unaltered, but I didn't achieve to show this.
That's the program I wrote:
pastebin.com/K2hTD5iv
And that is what we get a specific example
And I think that the error lies at this command: printf("f[%d]+h[%d]*q[%d]=%d \n",j,j-(i-d2),i-d2,f[j]+h[j-(i-d2)]*q[i-d2] );
Do you have an idea? @SqueamishOssifrage
