@e-sushi: this recent question about the number of Enigma settings was marked as a duplicate of that former one, even though it showed more research and raised an interesting point, which took me hours to elucidate. What about moving the text of the recent question into the old one?

@fgrieu Constructive idea indeed… edited/merged accordingly. (You might notice I also protected the question, but that’s totally unrelated to your suggestion. There were simply a few nonsense answers the past 24 hours and that “protection” should stop such “new users” in their tracks.) Btw.: nice expanded answer you posted there. Makes me wonder why no one else upvoted it yet.
