Now that’s something different… I noticed some annoying “stalls” while surfing, so I took the usual path: deactivate browser addons – no change, use different browser – no change, switch to clean VM running different OS – no change, swap ISP – change! Called failing ISP to get what I deserve for not dailing tech deps number directly: the usual “no problem known here” stuff. So far for the (almost) usual…
After some persuasion, call center agent forwards me to tech. Half an hour of fiddling with wireshark and direct connects back and forth between their tech and me, turns out ISP is currently failing to cope with a DOS directly targetting single network relay points and asks me to keep the lid on things until they’re able to nail things down (no reward or anything).
You’ld think people have better things to do. And I mean that in both ways: I can’t imagine wasting time to promote some ISP fail, and – more important – why for heavens sake would anyone waste his or her time DOS-ing even a single tower or antenna? Bah, need a coffee to cope with this morning… let me guess – yep, its a monday.
