And evaluation from last quarter:
My time in your discussion section was a nightmare. Your grading of homework is way too picky and is just a pain and a burden for students to have to deal with. Your policies of not being able to write on the back of paper so it could be neat, or the no showing scratch work policy was just utterely absurd.
I understand that our work needs to be neat, but many times I have gotten no credit from my work because you were too lazy to look at my work and understand it so you just put question marks around it. Being a college student, we don't have the time to go back and re-do work again because you were too lazy to look at the work presented to you on the paper. Many times, I copied down the exact work you showed on the board and turned it in to be corrected.
To my surprise, I received no credit and to this day I still don't know what I did wrong because all you did was put question marks. I just feel like especially in math, if you know the student knew what he was doing with the problem but he just included scratch work, I feel like it's so pointless to make the kid do the work again just because he showed scratch work. That kid got the question right too.
I just believe that you have given me and my friends so much extra stress and work for absolutely no reason but your pure laziness to adequately grade our papers effectively. I really hope I never receive you as a TA because you made doing homework such a nightmare for absolutely no reason.
Please do better so the kids that have you next won't have the same amount of stress and work we have had to deal with this quarter. Absolutely pathetic.
--- Here is a student who clearly didn't have a clue. :(

@XanderHenderson Obviously, I came to the same conclusion.

That has to be one of my favorite evaluations ever.

@XanderHenderson Certainly the student exhibits a classical psychological defense mechanism of projecting on to you their own issues with laziness.

That was kind of what I was thinking---that particular student was from a section that has to be one of the laziest I've ever had to deal with.
Less than half even bothered to turn in the homework most weeks.

Heh.
Right... I'm off.
