Well I'm definitely not making my reading goal this year, but I also find it pretty silly that the goal is even measured in number of books since the number of words in a "book" is ludicrously variable.

I finished the Elderlings series so I feel like the year was good anyway.

It's part of the reason I decreased my goal this year

If I decide to read longer books than suddenly the goal is way harder

I get that tracking books read is waaaaay easier, but a word count seems feasible. As far as I can tell they've got all that information, at least for most of the books.

@Wipqozn They definitely have page count which is still variable but less so.
