I wish that tag synonyms could be created by non-mod users of a certain rep. I guess it makes sense for StackOverflow, but for smaller sites like this one, it just doesn't make sense.
The big bottleneck has unfortunately just been getting people who have the rep to be able to do stuff. Perhaps if you could find someone who has higher rep, you could invite them to this list.
Oh that's right, I forgot about that. The problem I've run into with other stacks I do have rep for is that I don't have the rep in the tag because there are usually only 2 or 3 questions.
